Can someone name some good spells to enchant items with?

I have enchanted my daedric katana with the bound longsword already, any more ideas?:D

A weapon with either a 1 second stun or paralyze effect. Game over. Have your weapon proc a bound set of platemail as well. This way you can run around butt neked  to carry everything around and when you get into a fight, *pop*. Platemail. The problem with item enchantment is that it breaks the game the instant you start using it. It sure is alot of fun though. =)

Hey how do you poison someone's food?

I got that request from Morag Tong.

That's for a guy who walks up and down a bridge in Balmora

And the secon question is - where does that Orc from Mages Guild in Balmora go if I haven't contacted him straight.... I lefty the main quest for a bit later (as this is the second time I started playing) and the fella is gone, and I ha

And the last... a good place to buy or take a lot of grand soul gems?

1. Personally, I don't like enchanting weapons with a spell that activates on striking. Very bad against opponents who have magic reflection. 'course I suppose you could just hold two weapons, but with daedric weaponry, well, that can be rather heavy. Side note: The best two-handed sword is between Wolverine Hall and the home of the Wizard who holds the corprusarium. I often enjoy using this weapon :)

2. As for the Morag Tong quest, I think you "activate" the person's cooking pot. If I remember correctly, it's hanging from a tripod-like thing.

Btw, personally, I like collecting the souls of golden saints in grand soul gems for the purpose of having "constant effect" enchantments. Some of the most effective constant effect enchantments are restore health and restore stamina (essentially makes for regenerative items) enchanted into clothing (not armor).

Go get Goldbrand.

Then turn it into Eltonbrand. ;)

Vamp = teh idjut.

Bound Longsword just makes your katana a.... DAEDRIC LONGSWORD! The only other thing it has is fortfiy longblade 10, which is pretty much not any good.

So, in retrospect--Vamp is an idjut who SHOULD have enchanted his daedric katana with restore health 1-3 constant. ;)

Tx... Chalnoth... OK... I have to check out his cooking pot in his flat... so far I have put the poison on the plates :D ... hoping that he will just eat that when he comes home...

Anyway... what a weird dp from me earlier on

Oh, btw, as for the orc in the mage's guild, he shouldn't go anywhere. He should always be in the same portion of the large room downstairs in the Balmora mage's guild.

And grand soul gems can take a little while. I usually don't find very many until later on in the game, as they seem to appear randomly in crates once you reach a certain level.

Well it fortifys the longblade skill by 10 so I can't complain:D

While Baron is an ass, I have to agree with him.

"bound" weaponry is pretty pointless, except for situations where you would like to have daedric items, but don't have the strength to carry them. So, you'd generally get an iron, silver, or glass piece of equipment enchanted with some sort of bound item.

In your case, the daedric longsword generally does less damage than the daedric katana.

Course I'm an ass. But, Bound stuff is good until you get a decent weapon.

And Daedric katana... yeah, wow, best one-handed normal sword.

Constant effects are good, as I said. Healing constant effect would just be plain evil...

Check this one out:
http://www.ultimatexbox.com/morrowind/java

Be warned: it can take quite a while to load. However, it appears to have the location of every point of interest, so could be very useful...

Heh...I first entered the Elder Scrolls world with the game Daggerfall. Great game, but had a number of problems. The biggest of which was that the dungeons were almost entirely randomly-generated. This may work okay in a game like Diablo, but imagine attempting to search a huge randomly-generated 3D dungeon (often many times the size of a typical dungeon in Morrowind) for a single gem. Besides upping the graphics beyond DOOM-level, Morrowind pretty much fixed every glaring problem that Daggerfall had.

Anyway, as for Morrowind, it really isn't as frustrating as many games I've played in terms of completing quests. There have only been a couple of rare scenarios where I had a hard time completing one, and, fortunately, that usually tended to be a quest that wasn't in a string of quests (such as in a guild, or in the main quest). All most quests require is that you read the directions carefully.

As for being the "only one who can play it," I doubt that :) There are tons of people out there who have discovered far more about the game than I have. Of particular note are the people that have gone for becoming a vampire. I never had the patience to figure out how to properly-play a vampire.

But I do have to say that after a relatively short time, the entire game becomes rather easy. Once you get Daedric equipment (particularly a weapon), pretty much every fight becomes easy. Two other things I always obtain are the Cuirass of the Savior's Hide (I think that's what it's called...regardless, it's in a cabinet on top of Tel Fyr that's got a 100-strength lock), and the boots of blinding speed. Together, they not only make fights even easier (running in circles around helpless opponents is fun), and make travel much less tedious (A big, big, big benefit!).

Daggerfall. I still have that one lying around along with Redguard. I remeber the water bug that trapped and killed you. :) First spell to make in Daggerfall: Knock (lockpicking spell). Steal goods at night. Sell them back during the day. Great fun. :)

I'm just starting out and getting into the game (only up to level 10 so far, came with the new video card)....I've enchanted (not paid for, but done it myself) a pair of steel boots with "Water Walking for 60 seconds on self"; an Imperial Steel Right Gauntlet is enchanted with "Bound Axe for 120 Seconds on Self"; a ring is enchanted with "Soul Trap on target for 60 seconds". And I'm working on getting an amulet enchated with "Night Eye 30 for 120 seconds on self" and the left gauntlet enchanted with "Open 50-80 on touch". The problem is finding enough empty soul gems to fill....

Cheers,
JND

How do you counteract the blindess that occurs when you put those boots on?

This is where the Cuirass of the Savior's Hide comes in. 50% magicka resistance.

I actually found this out by complete accident. But there is a crappy bug here. You only have to increase your magicka resistance when you're putting the boots on. It doesn't have to be high at all while you're wearing them.

Bah. Get a good weapon, there's nothing you can't take down in one hit. I could probably take down Golden Saints in one hit now... :D Daedric Dai-Katana, Baby!

As for becoming a vampire--is it even possible after the Corprus cure?

--edit--And BTW, if you're playing a non-Dark Elf race, the 100% resist fire from Dragonbone Cuirass would probably be more useful.--/edit--

I think it is...but you would need to get some major minuses to common disease resistance. Could be done very effectively with a few spells and items. I haven't tried it yet, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Yeah, I figure you could do it, but the only reason to really is for Eltonbrand.... it's not like I need MORE killing power. :p

Heh with the dissapearing Orc in the Mages Guild... it can happen - it is some sort of a game bug - not exactly but a consequence that the orc likes to levitate - so it levitates off the place - really, however you ahve to open the console and type "ra" - without the quotes of course :D... which makes all the charachters go to the original place within the area you are in.... so that made my Orc come back...

And yes - thanks for that tip once again... this quest wasn't really straight forward as most of the others and that cooking bowl was not totally obvious either (at leat not to me) - only when you try to use it -it asks you do you want to put the poison in.

Anyway - yest the boots of blinding speed - after you kill or escort that Pemenic the trader guy - they are GREAT - now in them you are like a ferrari - opposed to normal Citroen AX while running around or levitating for that matter.

And to counter blindness you can either make a permanent light spell, or permanent night-eye - or build up willpower (I believe ) to 100 as it gives you magicka resistance by default - but still the easiest is to enchant something to 100 magicka resistance for 2 secs and cast the spell when you want to put the boots on - than you continue to see well as it is some sort of a neat bug in the game.

Well I am playing it now for the second time and it is still fun - rather good game, the first time around I did not do all the quests as a reformat took place (not even the main quest to the finish ) even though I was well on the way for that one, and did almost all fighter's guild ones.

ANyway... cool game what else to say - only complaint is that it leaks memory or something similar as it gets slower longer you play it.

As for the weapon Cloudcleaver (or something like that) Axe will do most of enemies straight away - and you can get it early on in the game just walk from Caldera to Ad Ruhn and one nord will approach you with a quest where you can obtain it.

And I found 5 grand and 7 great soul gems in a raid on a cave beginning with M south east of Pelgiad... so you have it ;)
