I spent more than I was comfortable with on this card but I wanted the best (for a short while anyway, as it always is).

So far what I've seen is I can now play at 16x FSAA, 16X Aniso, Tranparency AA at supersampling and it plays smoother than my previous 7900GTX at 2x FSAA, 16X Aniso, no Tranparency AA in games like FEAR and Condemned. All my other games will even be better.

This is at 1280x1024 which is my max res on my LED. That's fine with me, all the res I need.

Anyway, this is what the high dollar brings, enhancing the gaming experience which is what it's all about for me.

Now if I can just get good drivers/game patch for SC DA to play, I'll be fine.

Anyway, I'm pretty stoked with this card!

i can finally play tomb raider legend without hiccuping every 3 minutes with next gen turned on!

and oblivion, the odd little snag here and there. but its still a 100% improvment over my 7800 gtx. 16af and 8 aa supersampleing everything maxed. i never drop below what my 7800's best framerate was.

this is the fiirst card sinice the 9800 pro that i have felt is an actual step up and not just a minor increase in performance

My first impression is...

I need another air conditioner.

My room is HOT HOT HOT after an evening of gaming. It got hot with my X1900xt, but not quite this hot. And it definetly didn't idle that high.

It's worth it though. Oblivion is sweet ass sweet, and FSX is a completely new game after the sideshow with the XT.

Hey Qlichford, I see we both have the same cpu. Cool. The X2 4800 still has enough oomph to drive the 8800GTX quite nicely.

I'll get me a quad some day (which is going to require new mb and ram so it's going to be a pretty good expense, not to mention the time involved) but for now the X2 4800 still has some good life left in it.

True. My X2 4800 is clocked at 2.620MHz right now and with the 8800GTX clocked at 630/1900 w/ 97.02 dirvers I scored just under 9400 in 3DMark06.
