Mine is running 65C with the case closed and 61C with the side off the case. My case is well ventilated and I am not happy about this.

I'm idling at 73C!

Under full load it doesn't go past 83C, even during a 4 hour session of Quake 4. My case ventilation isn't as good as it should be, but I still think its running too hot.

60C and 62C, I noticed them both climb to high 70's and low 80's but never over 85C.

I don't mind the idle temps, I think these cards have alot higher thresh hold then the previous generations... prior to completion of the assembly I had my case fans off and it was idling in the high 70s.

I put a 120MM fan back in the case that I took out with the hard drive rails in my P180. There has been a DRASTIC drop with just a little extra ventilation.

It dropped almost immediately to 65C and has no leveled out at 63C. I think I can live with that.

Edit: It's finally dropped to 61C. WOOOT!

Mine idle around 72C for the top one and around 69/70C for the bottom one. I haven't checked what it gets to under load.

53c but I donŽt have my case until tomorrow, IŽll let oyu know how much hotter it will idle in the CM STacker 830.

I have 2 EVGA GTX installed and they idle at 58 to 61C and underload they go around 70 - 73 c

Ok well guess I don't feel so bad then.

Anyone else not having their monitor initialize when they restart? I have to turn mine off then back on to get a signal, otherwise it stays black. This is the only video card to do that to my NEC.

I've tried setting first display in the BIOS to PCI-e and PCI. Doesn't matter. Have to turn the monitor on and off.

lol I've had 2 different cards with different motherboards in the same case and they both idle at 76 celcius.

Very nice choice of case you're getting there. As for mine idles at 58c

Here's a plot of my 2 8800 GTXs while running the Luna demo.

So, I idle in the upper 60s, low 70s and under load it's in the mid-to-upper 80s.

That is the truely great thing about these cards, they may idle high but the difference between idle and full load isn't that much

at stock cooling, the idle temp and full load temp difference is small! This is also applied to the water cooled gf8800gtx!

my water cooled gf8800gtx is 43-45C at idle and only 48-50 at full load!

however, gf8800dtx indeed produce more heat than my 1900xtx at idle(the water temperature at least raise 7C at idle), this is very hot !

My Leadtek 8800GTX is 55 idle, 75 load.

I made a few airflow adjustments and ended up with idling at 61C and so far I have not been able to break the 80C under load. On average, it sits in the low to mid 70s. I am comfortable with these temps I guess.

When I manually reduce my 2d clocks via ATi Tool I lose more than 5C. So my card is not dropping from 3d speed when in 2d and|or idle.

Mine idles around 59c, oddly with the side of the case off it idles at 61c, that's what good air flow does I guess. Maximum I've ever seen it reach is 69c w/rtibhdrl.

That would be great. How many fans will you use with the Stacker?

Two or three 12cm fans. There is quite some warm air coming out of the GTX right on the Soundblaster so IŽll place a fan infront of GTX there and the Raptor is getting pretty warm as well, so IŽll defintly will try to find a cooler spot for it as well. The Zalman is so effective that I almost donŽt need an extra case fan in the back. Seriously, this computer is like almost fully silent and that even without a case.

With a 22C ambient, the cards idle about 54C.

8800GTX EVGA / Stock Cooling / Stock Speed
Idle: 51(c)
Load: ~60(c)

I just did a major system rebuild, 8800GTX, E6600, 680i Mobo, 2GB DDR2 Corsair, Antec 900 case -- Before I did the rebuild I switched my old system to the new case, it dropped temps over my old ones by 8(c) -- The case is an airflow champ.

Well it has been warmer than normal around where I live. The previous days were 75 degrees and today was up to 80. Now it's 73 degrees in my house.

I put a smaller cooler card in my rig to see how it behaves under these conditions. A X1950Pro idles @ 45C and under extreme load goes to 65C in the same conditions. The eVGA 8800GTX is 65|86C.

If my case was too hot this card wouldn't idle that low. I may try another 8800GTX or grab a GTS. I can't imagine using this thing in the worst parts of the Summer.
