This has been posted already and the cards in retail should not be effected here is a quote from Nvidia.

Today NVIDIA announced the hard launch and immediate availability of our new flagship GeForce 8800 GPUs. Some recent reports on the web mention a BOM error (wrong resistor value) on initial GeForce 8800 GTX boards. All boards with this problem were purged from the production pipeline. Product on shelves is fully qualified and certified by NVIDIA and its board partners. We and our board partners stand behind these products and back them with our full warranty.

Well I went to buy one today and was informed that the store in Arlington TX had to send back every 8800GTX because of bad resistors, and I could buy the 8800GTS but not the GTX.

This Fry's rep is not telling the truth. NVIDIA is NOT recalling all the 8800GTX's. The problem was solved before NDA expired.

NVIDIA did not make this statement for the 7900GT/GTX . This statement was made for the 8800GTX's. :)
