The Complete Military History of France.

Gallic Wars – Lost. In a war whose ending foreshadows the next 2,000 years of French history, France is conquered by, of all things, an Italian.

Hundred Years War – Mostly lost, saved at last by female schizophrenic who inadvertently creates The First Rule of French Warfare: “France’s armies are victorious only when not led by a Frenchman.”

Italian Wars – Lost. France becomes the first and only country to ever lose two wars when fighting Italians.

Wars of Religion – France goes 0-5-4 against the Huguenots.

Thirty Years War – France is technically not a participant, but manages to get invaded anyway. Claims a tie on the basis that eventually the other participants started ignoring her.

War of Devolution – Tied. Frenchmen take to wearing red flowerpots as chapeaux.

The Dutch War – Tied.

War of the Augsburg League/King William’s War/French and Indian War – Lost, but claimed as a tie. Three non-outright defeats in a row cause historians to correctly label the period as the height of French military power.

War of the Spanish Succession – Lost. The war also gave the French their first taste of a Marlborough, which they have loved every since.

American Revolution – In a move that will become quite familiar to future Americans, France claims a win even though the English colonists saw far more action. This is later known as “de Gaulle Syndrome,” and leads to the Second Rule of French Warfare: “France only wins when America does most of the fighting.”

French Revolution – Won, primarily due the fact that the opponent was also French.

The Napoleonic Wars – Lost. Temporary victories (remember the First Rule!) due to leadership of a Corsican, who ended up being no match for a British footwear designer.

The Franco-Prussian War – Lost. Germany first plays the role of drunken frat boy to France’s ugly girl home alone on a Saturday night.

World War I – Tied and on the way to losing, France is saved by the United States. Thousands of French women find out what it’s like to not only sleep with a winner, but one who doesn’t call her “Fraulein.” Sadly, widespread use of condoms by American forces forestalls any improvement in the French bloodline.

World War II – Lost. Conquered French liberated by the United States and Britain just as they finish learning the lyrics for “Deutschland Über Alles.”

War in Indochina – Lost. French forces plead sickness, take to bed with the Dien Bien Flu.

Algerian Rebellion – Lost. Loss marks the first defeat of a western army by a non-Turkic Muslim force since the Crusades, and produces the First Rule of Muslim Warfare: “We can always beat the French.” This rule is identical to the First Rules of the Italians, Russians, Germans, English, Dutch, Spanish, Vietnamese and Esquimaux.

The War of Greenpeace – Lost. Thanks to Emperor Misha, for reminding Clubbeaux that after Frog frogmen bravely blew up an unarmed Greenpeace ship in Auckland Harbour in 1983 and bravely killed unarmed people doing so, thereby commencing hostilities, “the attack catapulted Greenpeace to the international spotlight, boosting its popularity and presence to record levels. The incident gave Greenpeace worldwide publicity and brought it a deluge of new members. Lloyd Cutler, former White House counsel to President Jimmy Carter, negotiated an $8 million settlement from the French Government.”

As Misha says, “You attack a bunch of filthy, granola-munching hippies and you end up having to fork over $8,000,000 to make them stop harrassing you? You surrendered to friggin’ GREENPEACE??? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!”

War on Terrorism – Surrenders to Germans and Muslims just to be safe. Attempts to surrender to Vietnamese ambassador fail after he takes refuge in a McDonald’s.

Q: How many soldiers does it take to defend France?

A: Dunno. It's never been tried.

how is this a bad thing?

the romans (italians) ruled for a long time and their resourcefulness in picking up the pieces after every disaster has made them one of the most admired of ancient societies...

2000 years ago.. the romans still had something to offer... the italians of the WW II are a different matter but please do not confuse the 2...

The French suck. Mark my words we will soon see why they are so opposed to the war in Iraq.

BTW the newest French weapon is a white flag.

This all gives us plenty of reason to bomb Iraq and then bomb the French. We do not want to invade France, just bomb it and then leave, do a sort of fly by bombing.

Why should France and Germany support us? I mean what the hell, we only rebuilt their countries after WWII and put in place their democratic systems.

K.I.L.E.R, you rally behind Germany and France for taking a stand against us but your home country follows us around like a lost puppy. I find it odd that you don't have anything to say about that.

so because of that they should follow you no questions asked?
No, but I don't see how they consider Saddam Hussein to be of no threat to anyone. Diplomacy hasn't stopped him before, why would more UN bull**** work now?

I can dream can't I? Don't take my joy away. :D ;)

BTW they are French....so it's ok to bomb them. :D

Like I said I don't want to bomb them because they said no. I want to bomb them cuz they are French!:D

Also I don't want their support. I want them to shut up and go away! LOL You have to understand they are not just saying no. They are actually trying to block the US from liberating Iraq. There is a difference.

What does France have to hide. France has never stood on moral principals and they are not standing on them now. They are hiding something.

Iraq Invasion to Start on Normandy Beaches

(2003-01-21) -- If Saddam Hussein fails to disarm his country, the U.S. and a "coalition of the willing" will launch an attack on Iraq starting with a landing on the beaches of Normandy, France. Ground-based forces would then move across France and the Mediterranean Sea landing again in Syria for the march to Baghdad.

"Going through France may be the long way to get to Iraq," said U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell, "but it's worth it. We want to show our troops the land we saved from Hitler on our way to the land we'll save from Hussein."

French Foreign Minister Dominique de Villepin announced yesterday that his nation would wage a major diplomatic fight, including possible use of its veto power, to prevent the U.N. Security Council from passing a resolution authorizing military action against Iraq.

Secretary Powell said the troop movement through France would also serve as "unspoken negotiations with the French."

"Think of what it will do for their economy," Mr. Powell added. "I'm sure our forces will buy a bunch of cheese along the way. It's a goodwill gesture from us to them."

Cheers,
JND

I read somewhere that during the time the Western Roman Empire fell, the population of Rome was like 90% of foriegn nationality and 10% or less of Roman blood. Add 1,300 yrs later of more mixing and hundreds of generations, most Italians now aren't quite the Romans as some people might think.

We Aussies know which side of the bread has the butter, thats all.

And dont get too ****y about American supremecy. Without the support and backing from countries like ours, you guys would be a lot less reluctant to go picking and starting fights on your own.

I was biting my lips all the while, i did not want to answer back to your impugning remark, but we got targetted by terrorist for supporting your butts.
