View Full Version : Should I keep a 7900GT for physics?

I'm about ready to sell my 7900GTs but I was wondering if I would be better off keeping one of them for physics. Wish we knew the whole story regrading the Havok physics and Nvidia's GPU's. Would you guys keep one 7900gt?

My advice: sell them both right now. Since the G80s have come out, the previous generations of cards are falling in price (considerably). Sell them ASAP before it's too late.

I don't know if any current games use HavokFX yet. Still, nvidia's drivers don't yet support having a video card in the third PCIe slot (or I'm lead to believe), so your 7900GT is useless until then.

Sell it now at a higher price. Then when it's supported, buy one back at a cheaper price (I would suspect that a 7900GT will be about $150 within a few months).

edit- I just looked at your specs... since you don't have a third PCIe slot (unless you upgrade to a NF680), it's probably better just get rid of the card for now.
