Like review sites are saying the GTS is 20% cheaper then the GTX but is around 30% slower then the GTX. Which means it's anything less then value.
To tell you the truth i am thinking of splunging for a GTX as the GTS simply an't worth it.

Heh? Depends on your idea of "an't worth it". Mine is purring nicely at 575/1800 without a sweat, and 100 pounds cheaper at least than the GTX

I can get a 8800GTX for 400 which is just 25 more expensive then what you paid for the GTS, this can be had at dabs.com

I ordered a XFX 8800GTS at 12:00 at 13:00 the price dropped 22€ ($30) - typical :( . Otherwise the 7900GT has dropped like a stone and thats also a fast card.

In 2 weeks time. Meanwhile available cards are around 460 and GTS are 339 - 369 http://www.dabs.com/productlist.aspx?&NavigationKey=11021&CategorySelectedId=11021&PageMode=1

You always gonna save some money on the GTS
Saying it isn't worth it is rather silly tough

buying a GTS isn't worth it. it has less ram then the GTX and with the price difference it has it would be silly not to get GTX.

And in my case would mean to get a new PSU , and also a new setup (CPU,MB,RAM) because it would mean a huge bottleneck for the card. Add at least 500 on top of the card price. It's 500 that I don't have, with crimbo just around the corner. I'll wait for prices of C2D to come down
Besides, I'm running my GTS at GTX speeds, and I'm still CPU bound in same games
Trust me, It's worth it, specially if you came from a 7900GT

The GTS is 30% slower then the GTX and is 20% cheaper so it's not really the best bang for your buck. Dabs did have them in stock however at theat price can you imagin them ever having any instock? They where in stock the other day but for 400 it's a good buy for the performance you get.

Not saying otherwise. Just stating that what is not worth for some, it's more than enough for others :)

well for a little extra you can get a GTX which has more ram and performs better than the GTS even oced look at GeForce 8800 GTX/GTS Overclocking at FS http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/nvidia_geforce_8800_gtx_gts_overclocking/default.asp

in my book both are CPU limited and if you get the GTX now and waiting to upgrade the rest of your system later chances are you won't have to spend more money on another video card. even Conroe can't feed the g80 fully. With intel wanting to go DDr3 in march (so says the rumors on the internets) buy a conroe is like upgrade to a dead end. another reason I'm going to wait on a new system because I had enough to order a 30" 3007wfp and I will get a 8800GTX after i receive the monitor.

the 8800gts is worth buying as its faster than the 7950gx2 and 1950xtx at a cheaper price . I ordered an MSI geforce 8800gts for 325 off dabs and it fantastic.

It will never get cheaper. At least for me. Here in South Africa the import profiteers will continue to charge top dollar for everything. Their argument ... They ordered it then at that price ... there is nothing they can do about it. Everything is loooong term here. Africa time.

I see the ease with which people in America buy top of the range hardware. Here in South Africa you must blow an insane amount of money to be able to have a decent computer.

Those in South Africa who has top of the range graphic cards are either funded by their rich daddies or blows two months' salaries on their hardware.
