Nice one.

I want this cooler! I hope we can buy it soon. :)

Edit: Hmm, the pic doesn't show up. It's the one on the Sparkle "Calibre".

Apparently it's loud, eats more power, and still doesn't overclock as well as the eVGA ACS3 though.

I saw that thing the other day. Looks amazing but as stnctter said, its performance is lacking... its all about looks.

I don't think that is its fault. It is just unlucky to have a G80 chip which doesn't overclock very well. If all the chips are the same, it will have highest overclock speed.

Sparkle cooler looks phat. Anand says it cools better than the stock cooler.

Lacking? 62C @ load is fine by me. :p

Exactly. The Sparkle card was just unlucky with its G80 chip. If you put that sparkle cooler on the EVGA chip the overclock would have been alot better.

Oh, thats actually good. I guess they just got a bum overclocker. :o

Anyone know where you can buy those evga's they used in that test?

Of course that is possible, but I'd rather have a lifetime warranty, step up, etc., and not pay a premium.

I called EVGA today after I saw the article. They said they "think" they will be selling them "soon". But they had no actual ETA...I know Ima be grabbing one when they go on sale!

is that available for sale ? eVGA ACS3

Wonder if they will allow StepUp to the ACS3.

Exactly. The Sparkle card was just unlucky with its G80 chip.

But whats the point of buying such an expensive card when you have no assurance its going to overclock better?

You would think Sparkle would send out a hand picked sample to make their cooler look like its worth it, rather than a waste of cash.

Looking at them temps and most being quite high temps dispite same cooling, i would say either A: poor contact or B: they are using higher voltage then the refrence.

For a cool as my chip runs I wish it would overl**** better. Mine idles at 56 and I have not seen it above 74 under load, though with my memory above 2100 the core can't run faster than 629. With memory at stock the core does 644 though.
