Hi everyone,

I was wondering what everybody’s opinion is with regards to buy a dell 2407 24” widescreen monitor or going with the Westinghouse 37” 1080p monitor for computer use? I also plan to hook up xbox 360 with its vga cable to either these capable displays? I know dell makes 30” but I don’t think the price warrants when you can buy 37” for the same price. As of know I am leaning towards the 2407.. I was just wondering have anybody hook there pc to the Westinghouse 37” 1080 p monitor and if so how is it? Another question for the owners of the dell 2407 are black on the screen black?

For the Westy you might want to browse here: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forumdisplay.php?f=40

There are multiple threads on all kinds of TV's.

As for the Dell 2407 there are many people here who have that, so they should be able to help you there.

Oh yea, the Dell 3007 can do 2560 x 1600, which is more than 1080p. You need to have a hardcore rig to run at that res, but from what I hear it is insane. I'd prolly say upgrade that gx2 for a pair of 8800GTX. :)

lol, but I have a Gateway 21" FPD2185W HD Widescreen, and its native rez is 1680x1050 which is not to bad considering it cost me about $400, and I have my 360 hooked to it and my Tablet PC through the VGA port, so I have 3 things on this monitor :)

Ya go a dell 2407 or a 3007. They are awesome from what I have heard and I have also heard Dell support rocks.

If you can sit about 3 feet away from the monitor go with the 1080P Westinghouse LVM-37w3
For more info go to AVSForum (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=655280&page=143&pp=30), many happy user there. The thread is about 4300 post long so just read last few pages.

I'm waiting to buy the monitor as soon as I can get one in Canada. The games look awesome on the monitor and so does the desktop, did check the Westy LVM-37w1 (older model), BestBuy sells in Canada.

If you decide to go for smaller monitor the BenQ FP241W is better choice and better rated monitor than Dell 2407.

If you use the monitor mainly for desktop and windows application Dell 3007 is good choice but for GAMES, HD videos and HDTV you're better of with the Westy or the BenQ.
