Hellou guys,
I installed Linux RedHat 8 on my comp, finally I installed driver for my NVIDIA Riva TNT2.
But it still holds monitor on 85Hz and when I try to change the range of freqs in XF86Config
(example vert. 100 - 130)
Xs don't start.
What to do to get it on 100Hz??? please

thanks

First, and humor me on this, you are sure that your monitor does 100Hz at the specified resolution, ie: it does it in Windows? Having dispensed with that formality, try setting it to "100-100" in the XF86Config. Also check into wheter XFree even supports the resolution/refresh you are trying to achieve, though I doubt that is the problem. Failing all the above, you will, I think have to do a custom modeline. Lots of reading on it on the web, and if you use Nvidia, in the README that you can get where you download the linux drivers. Good luck.

I have exactly the same hardware (philips107b, riva tnt 2), and no luck setting 100Hz refresh rate for 1024x768.

The monitor works fine in windows at that refresh rate.

I just installed the latest driver and it makes no difference. The maximum validated refresh rate is 85Hz for 640x480 and 800x600 also. I also disabled EDID and set IgnoreBandWidth option true.

The vertical and horizontal ranges (from monitor manual) are 30-92, respectively 50-160
