Here's the link to 2560x1600 (or anything higher than 1280x800 will look like this)

Okay this is just is just frustrating I just recently purchased a DELL 3007WFP with ati x1800xl. However i've been getting problems with the resolutoin it turns green. So I turned to geforce 7950 and it still didn't work same effect happens.. After that i went out and purchased the brand new geforce 8800 GTS and it still doesn't work. I wanted to make sure it wasn't the 7950 that was the problem. I don't know where else to turn . Can it be related to the motherboard. ? I been using the dual link dvi cable that was supplied by dell (it has a tape that says it's dual link). I don't know why it won't go over 1280x800, from what I understand is that 1280x800 is vga, so is the video card not pushing it to dual link? It can't be though because it lets me go to 2560x1600 but it just has a green background layer and also the picture becomes fuzzy.

Anyhow here are my specs:
AMD Opteron 165 1.8ghz
DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D
2x512 G.SKILL DDR 400 RAM
Creative XtremeMusic
WD 320GB Hard Drive
eVGA GeForce 8800GTS
Enermax 625Watt Powersupply

There must be something wrong... im' not sure. I even tried updating to the latest bios. Still doesn't work with anything over 1280x800....

Is it the monitor or is it some kind of driver issue? It's brand new only two weeks old. and it's revision a02

Do you have access to another Dual link DVI cable? Check the pins on both ends and make sure one is not too short.

i don't have access to another one right now, but i'll try to get pick up one today to make sure its not the cable. both ends of the cable seems okay because it doesn't have the missing set of pins. And another thing in the display options it lets me sale up to 2560x1600 but just gives me the green like layer
