****ers bought them all up and have them on EBay so I couldn't get one even though I tried my damn hardest. Dont care if my excitement is ruined as I may be leaving out for a stretch anyway so if you got it please drop some impressions and pictures to if you have.

How is surfing the net on it?
How is the navigation and interface?
How does PS3's marketplace compare to 360's?
Dumped anything of the hard drive yet?
Etc, etc.

Yeah, if anyone has one, the thing I'm most interested in is how quiet or how loud it is, especially if you can compare this to the X360 also.

I haven't surfed on it yet. No reason to really considering its in the same room as my PC right now. The interface feels just like the PSPs with just more options... if anyone finds it difficult to navigate then they are a ****ing moron. Haven't been on the Marketplace yet, Hell haven't even gone online with it at all yet since I want to finish Resistance's SP first. I dumped Ridge Racer to the drive and acouple CDs (just to see if it would work), not really to scream about.

For the systems noise, there is almost none. Its really dam quiet. I can barely hear the fan running on the machine. I already ordered a new drive online so I will se how its installation goes when it arrives. Im going to try the media format playback once it arrives, hope it plays my anime good.

I gotta say, Its taking me awhile to get use to the controller. While I love how it feels (I prefer the PS2 pad design over the Xbox) I dislike how light it is. The weight of the original was so nice it now feels like Im barely holding anything. If you want to know how it feels, go pick up a Dual Analog.

Where do you go to change the dashboard color? I have both the PS3 and the 360 and the 360 sounds like a jet engine compared to the PS3 which I can't hear. I actually thought it was broke when I first booted it up because it was so quiet.

Yeah I got mine, and helped my brother camp Wal-Mart for his (mine was guaranteed from Gamestop) and it is awesome... the blu-ray playback is incredible on Talladega Nights, but I still need to buy some other movies (want Tears of the Sun... good movie and I hear it looks incredible in HD). Haven't surfed the net too much yet, but it is the same as the PSP browser from what I did do. The store is alright, although I find the Xbox Marketplace better in some aspects.

Well worth the purchase... I got Genji and my brother got Resistance and I rented Call of Duty 3 today (one of the only games they had to rent :\). Also I tried the playback of PS2 games (well.. game I put in Shadow of the Colossus) and it might just be me but it seemed to look a little better with less jaggies... but it has been a few months since I last played, so it could be in my head. Also Genji allows you to "install" some of the game onto your harddrive for quicker load times which is a nice feature.

So far everything is pretty good. I've already done 2 firmware updates, one came off the NBA Live 07 disc, (1.02) then I went online and got the 1.10 update. I think Sony's getting hammered right now, cause that one took forever. I went online, the as far as I can tell the browser is useless atm. You can't actually browse the web with it.

COD3 is pretty sweet, although it's kind of hard to aim. You already have to patch that as well to go online. Was getting owned on one of the 5 servers that are up. I definitely like the controller shake to melee someone.

Tony project 8 has a few cool features, like tilt balance, tilt steering, and tilt manuals. I tried them, but I think they are harder to use than regular settings. I kept going into a manual not even trying, and I turned the sensitivity way down.

Console is wisper quiet, but that's a problem right now. Mine has already shut off twice due to overheating. :( I'll blame that on the heat, it is easily in the 80's inside the house because we heat our home with wood. So you can't regulate it all that well and my dad goes overboard before he goes to bed. I'm going to try laying the console down and see if it solves the problem. (It's on its side right now.)

I haven't had the time yet to try DVD's, PS2, PS1 games or anything like that yet, but I threw in Talladega Nights and it worked just fine right out of the box.

Any other questions?

EDIT: Oh yea, the controllers pwn! Sony really thought those through. You can hit the "PS" button in the middle of a controller, and it will turn the console on. At anytime when the console is running, you can hold it down for 2 seconds, and it brings up a menu. You can turn off that controller, turn off the console, quit the game or movie, and it also shows the controllers ID, and the battery life. I was throughly impressed by all of those features.

One more thing, it is gorgeous IMO, the mirror black finish with chrome trim really makes it look sweet. Speaking of the console, this sucker is heavy. I threw it on the scale and it is 11lbs. (7kg, says that in the booklet.)

I can feel the heat coming from mine, especially on the back of the unit but I have yet to have any issue, could be that my house is in the mid 70's right now.

I hope Sony releases a VGA Cable for the unit, Would love to have it run on my monitor. I got a new chair for my PC and its very comfortable...

Will do. Like I said, I know it was showing 86F at one point on my MX5000 keyboard, so that's definetly higher than most homes.

Heh, that reminds me of another thing. It is supposed to work with any mouse / keyboard that is usb. I used the MX5000 combo, but you can't use the built-in bluetooth to talk to the keyboard or the mouse. If you hook up the USB dongle to the front of the PS3, the bluetooth from that to the keyboard and mouse work fine. Go figure. I'm assuming it's cause they didn't throw profiles for anything but BT headsets on the console.

Of all the things I was worried about with the PS3 heat is still the main issue.

:firedevil

And as PC Gamers as well we all know what too much heat can do.

When you say that the PS3 is whisper quiet that kinda worries me because I know there is no liquid cooling in those PS3's.

This sounds like the Xbox 360 issues all over again. Screaming fast components in very tight living quarters.:captnkill:

Eww that sucks, I was going to look for a headset, because I can use it with a bunch of different things. Basically everything BUT my phone.

I forgot to mention yet another thing that was cool about the controllers. If you turn off the console with any controller, or by hitting the button on the console, it will turn off ALL controllers that are connected to it. That way you don't have to worry about a controller dying because it was left on. I assume they probably have a timeout, but I'm not sure what that would be.

Im sure they just need to upload a profile for it. To make the new LG CU500 compatible with Stero Bluetooth Headphones (nice headphones btw, better then standard wireless) all that was done was create a profile for the device. Im sure Sony will add it later on, I atleast hope so...

Just tell me where to complain, it only makes sense that a standard BT keyboard works with a BT host. ;)

If there is a demand for bt keyboard then there might be a patch for it. Up until now though, Sony has always said only USB keyboard/mouse would work.

I don't actually have one, but this in reference to the heat issues. Me and a buddy of mine headed to the local best buy today to check out the PS3 stand, and to see if any Wiis were available(they weren't, not until Sunday). Much to our dismay, whatever game was playing(I think it was some kind of motorcross game) was frozen. Locked up. Not working. Just thought it was kind of humorous, told the sales lady and moved on to the Wii section.
