i just ran 3dmark06 basic and got a 3011 with a 680i and 8800 gtx build and a e6700.
i got that same score on a seperate comoputer running a 3.2ee and a 7800 gs agp.
i can run the 8800 gtx in oblivion at 1920x1200 maxed out smooth as butter unless i put object distance to the max, 1 click lower is not bad but at max it likes to stutter on loading them.
everything felt smoother, i can actually use sceney and aa and all that in fsx in 1920x1200. nwn2 is just a loser engine and runs like a dog with anything.

what is going on with the 3dmark06? 9fps avg for each graphics test?

you have AA & AF on in the nvidia control panel by any chance? set it to default and run it again

cant be power cuz he said oblivion is working fine..

could it be a driver issue? card or the Mobo

well my xp install is off i think lol.
first of all, my main drive is j: because the mb picked up all the other card slots and xp sp1 cd install made them take priority so maybe thats the issue.
the other issue is 70 smething updates in a row and now the machine will not shut off when it suppose to have to manually turn it off.

maybe its all related.

i have 2 machines getting vista ultimate atm which i know will be fine here but there are no drivers for both mb or video card yet right?

i have a machine with the same symptom you said which is manually shutting off.. maybe try a reinstall of windows?

My 3D06 score dived to 3036 (from 11020) after using the adjust GPU clocks slider in the control panel. I launched ATI Tool to check for artifacts and then launched the NVmonitor to check temps...for some reason it went screwy, had to reinstall the 97.02's to get my score back, perhaps try that.

i did try the ntune 20 min tuneup and stopped it after it kept going after 20 minutes. maybe it messed with something instead of reverying it all?

all fixed now. something must have messed with something in the driver, reinstalled it and got 10289

omg the performance now is orgasmic at 1920x1200.
oblivion doesnt stutter and runs like butter with everything cranked.
fsx gets teens for fps with everything but scenery on ultra, at the time of running there weas storm system for clouds so that probably lowered it a bit was tons of clouds.

the shocking change was NWN2
i have every setting maxed out and all the options turned on at 1920x1200 and it was unbeliavably smooth, i have all the shadows maxes, all the water options, point shadows, normal mapping, etc..... I have a few saves i like to try it on, 1 is the fair at the beginning, that performed awesome. the swamp area was a bit less smooth, but still real playable. I didn't take fps readings but playable to me is no stutters and smooth like tv. I'm fine with mid 20s for fps.
