I got a Micro Zen(6gb) mp3 player last christmas and just opened it :D. I have no experieince with these players and was just curious at what kbs I should rip the cds on?

How about 320kbps VBR with Lame. That should give you the best quality/size ratio.

the best sq/size ratio would be ogg but i dont think your player supports it :(

I use HQ VBR, maybe a few notches from "full quality" in the LAME slider.

Guys keep in mind 6gb's ain't all that much, I've got 1400 songs @ 320kbps on my Zen Vision:M 30GB and that's 10GBs worth. I would recommend 192kb/s HQ CBR stereo (don't use joint-stereo past 128kb/s there's no sound benefit). That would give you much more storage and still very nice sounding audio. I use 320kbps cuz I have 30GB's :)

Yea, I was thinking that. I was orginally using 128kbps but wasn't sure what kind of quality I was missing. I tried 320 but the size just seemed a bit to much in the long run.
