Well I got it, Wii and Zelda. But I'm too freaking exhausted to share my experiences, I waited in a 7 hour line at Nintendo World New York.

If you live in NY and want a Wii, Nintendo World has an enormous stock, the only thing is they process INCREDIBLY slow.

I also heard Toys R Us Times Square was shipped 8,000 units (yes you read right), and they can process much quicker.

So if you live in NY, go to Toys R Us Times Square.

You'll get a full report from me on stuff later, but right now, **** it. I'm off to play Zelda.

OMFG at first I couldn't find the AC adapter and was about to **** a brick.

First impressions: visually, the unit looks very very slick.

Just got my confirmation email for my pre-ordered Wii - my UK shop has just had it's own confirmation of how many it's getting, and I was early enough pre-ordering to be certain - so a happy xmas for my son.
Not counting chickens until the 8th december though...

I spent from 6 PM till Midnight at a Walmart. But I got my Wii. They only had 29, and I was #16 in line. By 7 PM all the Wiis were accounted for. Things went pretty smoothly though. I've been playing a lot of Wii sports with my friend who waiting in line with me. Played a lot of Raving Rabbids too, it's got great humor. I may put off Zelda until my Component cables get here, just because I'd like to play it with the best possible image quality. It could be a while. But I've still got FFXII to play though, so its no big deal.

Edit: Man, played a best of 5 game of Wii Tennis that seemed to drag on forever. Took me a while to figure out that I didn't have to go for a full swing and that just jerking the controller left and right was enough... but I still prefer the full swings :p Was about to break a sweat by the time I finally won, those AI's are tenacious.

Two of my friends got 'em, and my initial impressions with Wii Sports were amazing. Boxing was absolutely amazing and felt very natural.

They picked up Call of Duty 3, Zelda, and Trauma Center as well. I'll hopefully get a crack at them sometime.

I got me Wii at 2 minutes after midnight at Gametstop, pre-ordered. Got Zelda, Rayman, and RedSteel. First thing I did played Zelda, looks like this game is going to eat lots of my time! Rayman lol is way to funny, really showcase how remote and nunchuk works (great for parties). I haven't got to try RedSteel or Wii sports yet lol, guess I will be busy playing my WII (lol sounds perverted!) this ThanksGiving holiday.:D

Im going to ask for them but not make an effort, if I can't get one normally before Zelda's release on the Gamecube then I just saved myself $250 bucks. :)

You must have good time management skills! I wouldn't know which to play when I wake up....which isn't really a bad problem to have.;)

Congrats on the new toys man.

Surprisingly, Zelda was NOT the first thing I played after hooking up my Wii.

I fiddled around with the Wii Channels and created a "Mii". The remote is surprisingly intuitive. I pretty much thought it would be good, but the actual control it provides is even better than I expected. After a couple of minutes using the Wii-mote as a pointer it becomes second nature. Anyone who though it was a gimick was dead wrong. The control is very tight and works very well.

I fired up Wii-sports and played a quick tennis match. The AI is pretty hard and I played about 6 matches and I don't think I won any of them. The controls are easy to use, it's just the the AI is so damn hard. I also played baseball and struck out 2 times and grounded out 1. Again, the AI is pretty hard. Then I was like WTF I could be playing Zelda and fired it up.

I'm not going to give an in-depth review or anything right now. I'll wait until I complete the game (which could take a while from the looks of it). I logged about 3 hours on Zelda and I don't even think I scratched the surface. At first there is sort of a "tutorial", but then things start to get crazy, and all I can say is that I'm on the edge of my seat. I won't give any spoilers, but trust me when I say this game hasn't disappointed me, and my expectations couldn't have gotten any higher.

That's all for now. Time for some dinner.

Great! I hopped in line for my Wii at 3:00 am this morning and got it just after 10am along with Zelda, and a couple of extra controllers (and nuchuck). Was #6 in line and the store only had 6. #7 in line was literally cheated out of his cuz someone got 2, so some dude's friend actually drove off to check other places for him. The guy got #19 at Circuit City with 22 units. Oddly enough he got his before I got mine o.O
I've slept most of the day, but am already in love with Wii sports and can't wait for more bits like it. I haven't actually smiled and laughed out loud while playing a game in a long time. Thank you Nintendo!

I spent almost all day playing Zelda(like 10 hours). It's incredibly fun and in many ways different from OOT, which I've heard it draw a lot of comparison from. Towards the beginning it is very similar but several features set it apart (and the Wii controller is awesome for this game). My only criticism is the fact that the first three dungeons are the same settings as the first three OOT dungeons. Very odd choice. Of course the dungeons themselves are completely different (much better so far). The story and characters are unusually interesting for a Zelda game so far. Anyway I'm totally hooked on it. :D

******ZELDA SPOILER ALERT*********
(it's ok for you ninja since you are past that part already)

The dialogue in this game is just pure Zelda. While I was learning the first hidden sword power, that bad ass skeleton knight who was teaching me basically whooped my ass and said "you may be the chosen one, but your power in it's current state would disgrace the green tunic that you now wear" This game just keeps getting better and better.

When he's readying a punch he leaves himself open for a few seconds. Attack him with your sword until you hit him with the last swing of a swing combo, which knocks him over. He rolls up into a ball and you can grab him with A. Do so (make sure you hold A down until you throw him or he'll break it) and Link will toss him. Try to get near an edge so that when you toss him he falls into the lava.
