What makes this chip so special? Will this chip surpass the Conroe or even the Kentsfield?

Is this a quad core like the Kentsfield. I would really appreciate if someone would care to elaborate on AMD's new weapon.

its actually 2 Dual Cores on a single mobo, not sure what advantages it has, but I heard teh PCi-E bus and such will be better cuz of its dedicated Hypertransport to teh CPU and such, not sure on all the details

Nothing much has been revealed other than the 4x4 and an 8x8 (2 quad core's) scheduled to come out in '07. Still, no specifics yet other than it will apparently take up a lot of room on the motherboard like the current dual processor boards.

Yup 2 chips on board, still the same old architecture, so in single app applications it will get smoked by the Conroe... may be able to flex its muscles in applications that take advantage of 4 cores.

Wouldn't it be 8x4? Since it's 8 cpus and 4 gpus?
