Well here it is.
About a month ago I dowmloaded the 41.09 upgrade for my 32MB Visontek NVIDIA Riva M64 graphics card.
Everything was fine.
Last week after starting up my desktop all the white colors looked grey. I did not think anything of it until I opened up a folder and noticed that on the white background horizontal lines of vary degrees of grey where visible on the screen.
These lines seem to extend outward from any text or graphic msot apparently on light backgrounds.
I've had this particular desktop system for 2.5 years.
100 drachmas to anyone that can help me solve this problem!
Thanks:confused:

did u try to use some other drivers?
did u check ur monitor?......i have one old belinea and when i put brightness and contrast over 90% it looks like brighter areas spill over darker.....
I'd say spend the 100 drachmas on a new video card... :D
Ditto silence ... check the brightness and contrast on the monitor (and in your driver settings).
Cheers,
JND

Thanks for the advice but it did not work the dark areas are still spilling over to the lighter backgrounds.
Might be time for a new video card. Any suggestions?
Lol, guys the drachma was the currency Greece used before the euro.It does not exist now.He is playing you.:p
TheGreek, its about time you got rid of that POS card you have and it'll take you more than 100 drachmas to buy a decent one!!:D
What is your budget for a new card?
A radeon 9700pro is a nice card last time I heard!!
P.S 100drachmas=30eurocents!!!

Fotis,
Now you know why I am trying to get rid of my drachmas.
My secret is exposed.
I am so ashamed.
My budget is a non-issue. But I would like to get value for my cash.
Keep the ideas coming.
The radeon 9700pro costs 450euros in greece the non pro for 380.If you don't want to spend top $ for a card radeon 9500pro is about 280euros.
The radeon9500pro performs the same as gf4 ti 4600 at default and completly kills it when fsaa&aniso is on.
The radeon 9700 series will give you fluid gaming 4xfsaa&16aniso is every game.
I previously owned a gf2 but when I turned fsaa on I couldn't go back. It's just disgusts me to see aliasing in games now.
I gave you my opinion the choice is yours.
There isn't any reason to buy a gf4 unless you wont to spent less money. The drivers are great and rock stable.
If you have a low end cpu the radeon 9500pro is a better option for you.

Id first make sure the monitor is the problem. You will never forgie your self i you spend money on the wrong part! Just find a friend with a comp and plug it in.
Then on the other side, if you bought a new videa card, then found it is the monitor, you give your self an excuse to buy your self a new monitor :D
