Next time do a little research before you decide to buy a new product. I think you will be more aware of (and satisfied) with the results in the end.

Man, this whining is really funny! Next we will hear that it's nVidia's fault because there are no DX10 games to play.

Its not really whining per se, it's more of, we bought a product, and we'd actually like it to work! Someone said a great analogy earlier saying "it's like buying a sports car, only to find out it doesn't have an engine!". Regardless of Vista, the XP drivers are just abysmal, and it's really a shame that nVidia released a product with such shoddy drivers.

Isn't Flight Simulator X a DX10 game?

You should've made sure the car had an engine before you bought it.. :p

Not only that, but you should make sure it runs properly..

How can you tell the card is going to work before you buy it? It's not like you can open the package, test it out, and see if it works. At least with a car you can test drive it; here, you're SOL. With the 96.89 drivers, I've had 4 freezes in Windows in a row! If the new drivers don't fix that or any other issues, this card is getting sold ASAP.

Use the 97.02 drivers, the 96.89 drivers are extremely beta.

He said the 97.02 drivers were crap too. For myself on a 7900GT the performance seems good with them, but there is an odd but where certain HD media (namely 1080p) causes BSOD, and WMP in general has issues playing some video.

I felt compelled to register in order to post on this subject.

1. NVidia (et. al.) cater to early adopters / enthusiasts - who else needs their flagship? Are they just hoping these early adopters are only "early" in the graphics dept.?
2. NVidia _promotes_ full DX10 support? Didn't someone mention that they might want to think about having a driver for the only DX10 OS (regardless whether it was a beta at the time or not).
3. Vista has been in the works for... ???

All of you saying "bleeding edge" and other such _excuses_ for Nvidia not having drivers for a _released_ OS are just allowing them to get away with piss poor support for their product.

The fact that they don't have good, stable drivers (or any) for this OS is just inexcusable, IMO.

Thank you. Now don't even get me started on the Nvidia 680i motherboard fiasco. The way I see it there are those that are let down by a new highly promoted product and that are just looking to vent a little, and there are those that want to jump all over those that are let down. hmmm . . One would ask why? Why even post in the thread. No one forced them to read it. I don't really get it. As far as I'm concerned the mods can just go ahead and delete this whole thread if they want. Never meant to start a controversy on "whinners" vs "whinner complainers". jeeez! :thumbdwn:

Then give it a rest already. Nobody like to see it. It doesn't help anything, and it just uses up bandwidth.

We all know what happens when you ride the bleeding edge. Some amount of bleeding is expected. Random bashing and whining only makes for more random bashing and whining, as you have witnessed.

Give it a rest, or give your stuff to me and I will quietly deal with it! :D

I don't think I've seen this much whining about a driver release (or lack thereof), ever.

If the 97.02's are shoddy, I can't wait for real drivers. ;)

As far as Vista is concerned, suck it up.
