Remember this is NOT GT 5. It's more like a polished GT4.

The lighting looks amazing. There are some obvious things that need work like car decal textures for one.

Well I'll be buying the PS3 for GT:HD alone. All the other games will be just bonus. You know why it's worth $500/$600?

I have a nice chassis setup with the GT4 wheel and I also have the new Logitech G25 wheel. Assuming at least one of these 2 will work with GT:HD (hopefully!! (nana2) ), I *have* to get GT:HD.

Isn't this the game that is going to cost $500 after all is said and done?

I wish they wouldn't work on GT:HD, and start working on GT5.

That's what they are doing though. Playing around with the new architecture and learning while doing GT: HD.

Bingo, and likewise on all counts. If it *does* look something close to this good though, even just on replays... then it will shift systems

Side note, have you noticed that besides the ailiasing the shot looks uber real... except the car looks plastic? Its like its a fake car, or plastic shell.

Is it just me, or are the tail lights not modeled out? Looks like it's just a texture to me...O_o

And so what?

This is not GT5, a lot of the things in the game are place holders.

I think the lighting is probably the best I've seen in a racing game so far.

This is one of the few games thats keeping my intrest in the PS3. God of war and devil may cry are the other ones.

That's a great, very detailed shot. Too bad it's a ricecar but I digress. However, anyone who thinks the PS3 will produce this in game, in motion, is a koolaid drinker. Maybe next generation. Xbox720/PS4.

GT3 did produce the shots from its promo videos and early screens, but when you played the game the detail just wasnt there in the background etc. The cars themselves looked reasonable. Note here, no background shots. Right now PGR3 does something similar with great cars, but when you play it, it starts to look more like a standard video game.

Can you explain to us whats not possible about the shot? Have you not seen the past gameplay GT:HD Premium videos compared to the newer gameplay videos. The jump between them is pretty huge, whos to say they cannot keep improving?

becuase this is how the replay looks and it doesnt quite look that good. it still looks good it just looks more like a game in these shots wich seem to be from the replay.

Okay so how are you comparing them?

Like I said those shots you posted are old. Go watch the Lotus vids over at IGN and tell me the game still looks like those pics you posted.

I'm going to have to throw GT4 into my PS3 now. I haven't tried any older games in in yet. Hopefully the PS3 will allow you to enhance the picture, like you could using the PS2 with PSX games.

The question is not that the detail is already in the game to look that good, it is at what distance they can show it to look like that and still keep a good framerate. If you do a playback of a replay in NBA Live 07, a close up shot will reveal the dimples in the basketball, as well as all the logos. Everyone's face looks pretty detailed as well, and this is a release title.

2 of those shots are from GT:HD Classic, not premium. Which makes your argument iffy.

Check the Premium gameplay videos from gamers day (which was almost 2 months ago), then look at the orginal GT:HD premium gameplay videos from pre-gamers day. The difference in the lighting is big. Now this game doesnt come out for atleast another 6-8 months, whos to say it wont keep improving.
