Hi,
I can't get my GeForce FX 5200 to work with 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz.
Is that a problem with the driver or doesn't the FX 5200 support this resolution?

According to the BFG specifications it does support the resolution.

According to NVIDIA specs it doesn't support it over DVI

If your monitor doesn't support the resolution it wont show in the settings.

I'm going to venture that any 6 series or 7 series will be able to do it.
6200 is a yes, so I can assume that the 7600 will. http://www.nvidia.com/page/pg_20050307904988
You two best bets are the 6200 and the 7600gs. If you want to game, the 7600gs would be preferred. I chose AGP cause your most likely using that interface now.

You need a dual link DVi to get 1920 x 1200 or higher.

No you do not.
My old 6800GT (singlelink) supported 1920x1200 on my 24" dell over DVI. Because it just could do a higher clockrate on the singlelink interface. 2560x1600 kinda resolutions however do require duallink DVI

It does support 1960x1080 over DVI-D because I am doing that now in Windows with a BenQ G2420HD LCD monitor. I think Nvidia has some errors in their spec and this is causing me hassles whenever I try to use their drivers with this card on any Linux distro, when trying to use the Native monitor resolution of a 24inch widescreen LCD it just wont allow more than 1600x900 with version 173 and version 96 is limited to 800x600 for me in some distros.
