I went through this game already and looks very nice and had no problems with ht but weirdest thing is in options it says check for optize for SLI and i have sli in my system.

When i check optimize for sli and restarts for setting changes it keeps unchecking itself like i don't have sli. What with that? I have SLI and should be able to optimize for sli in cod2.

There is a problem with cod 2 keeping the sli setting, look here: http://www.tweakguides.com/COD2_5.html and here: http://www.tweakguides.com/COD2_9.html. What I do is set up the config for what I want and then make the config read-only, that way it wont change everytime I start the game (after making the changes, right click on the config chose properties and click read only). Hope this helps. :D

So if this is a problem and is not addressed than cod2 is really not using sli right? that means im playing the game at ultra high res and no sli/

I don't mean that at all, it just means cod 2 doesn't remember the settings. It does take advantage of sli (I have 2 8800GTX's in SLI). Just add seta r_multigpu "1" to your config.cfg or to the config_mp.cfg then right click on the cfg, chose properties and click read only.

You are still running off the SLi profile in the drivers. So yes SLi is working.
Optimize for SLi option is just that, Optimize. SLi works even with it set to no, but runs better with it set to yes. But single gpu also runs better with Optimize for SLi set to yes, go figure that one out.
