I have the above problem- a Winfast A400 XT TDH card based on the 6800LE with 64MB of RAM. I cannot get -any- NVidia driver to work with this card on WinXP SP 2 -except- for the 77.77 drivers - trying any newer Nvidia drivers (including the newest one as of 28/11/2006) results in 320x200 resolution in FOUR colors... any ideas?
I've tried reformatting and reinstalling Windows already - as soon as I install any Nvidia driver higher than 77.77 after a fresh Windows install the desktop goes to 4 color mode in 320x200... -only- the 77.77 works with my card and gives me back the correct desktop res and higher color depths. When a newer driver drops to 320x200, it is also impossible to switch to any higher resolution or color. I then have to reinstall the 77.77 driver to get Windows' resolution and color depths back again.
Any ideas? How can I get my 6800 LE to work with newer Nvidia drivers in Windows?
In Linux (FC3) my card works 100% with the newest Linux NVidia driver for XWindows, so my hardware seems to be ok... it must be something in Windows? But what?!
