Thanks Alpha, I was searching for media just a couple nights ago, this is GOOD!

So, this is a mod then?

It looks incredible! Is it the original just redone to have up-to-date graphics essentially? And is it free? And how do you get it? I'd love to play through it again with those kinds of visuals!

Yes it's the original redone on source.
It may be free
You won't be able to get it for at least a year, they are going to finish it before they release it, no incremental levels sadly.
Many including myself kinda expect Valve to pick up on their work and perhaps help them and maybe sell it over steam for a small price.

Oh, I thought it was done. :p My bad.

Okay, well, I'll keep my eyes on this as it interests me greatly. I'd love to see the expansions for HL remade as well. Could you imagine how awesome that part where Barny is in the elevator with the Scientists would look? That'd be sweet! And in OF where the plane crashes in the beginning? Would be beyond sweet! :D

Good news is that some guys are making Blue Shift Source, it's not far along but there are a few screenshots:

Looks sweet. I hope its done within two years. Some of those models look better than HL2, like the zombie with the head crab, unless the in game renders will not be a good as whats pictured??

If that happened I would be pretty annoyed. I am tired of valve buying out all of the good mods and then putting a price on them.

I highly doubt this can happen anyways though. There are just far too many contributors that are putting in little pieces here and there. They would have to put up some kind of contract that every single one of them agrees to.

Wouldn't be the first time though. But then I'm not sure they could qualify this as a "mod". As I understand it the remake is exactly that, original levels left unchanged, unlike D3.

There are changes, but the overall structure of the levels is left intact.
