i love this CPU/mobo/RAM combo, im not goin to upgrade for a while, thats for damn sure. even when i want more, ill probably buy a used FX-60 and OC that to 3GHz. not a fanboy, just dont see a reason to upgrade atm :D

LOL, don't STEAL my rig Damnit!!!

I'll see if I can hit 3 Gigers on it, shouldn't be too hard with this board and the Zalman, I went that route for myself this time cause it is the difference betwen spending a few hundred, and a grand to replace CPU/Mobo/Ram. (Bought an FX-60 for my friend, had it at 2.8 easily, so 3.0 shouldn't be bad.)

This processor doesn't like to overclock that much, I had to keep backing it down in order to get it prime95 stable. I chose to run a lower multi with a high FSB since I can run the ram at 1:1. Not sure if it makes a diff or not, but it's running good like that. :)

It will hit 3ghz, but it wouldn't even complete superpi, so I'd prolly need a lot of voltage to make that stable. I'd rather leave it a little slower than push a ton of volts through it.

Thanks man! I'm sure there will be more selling, newegg.com finally dropped their price on them from like $800 to 450, so they might even drop low enough to buy them retail soon.

Nice OC you have going on that 4400+, I bet with a little voltage that can probably hit 2.6 easily, then it's almost a moot point to get an FX-60.

I know others have done it, I'm just nervous as I'm still new to this and can't replace the chip if I fry it. But what a sweet difference 300 mhz makes in FEAR for me, much smoother. Oh, the gfx oc'd to 470 helps alot too. :D

Ok by adding some voltage to the memory I now have my system stable at 2.81Ghz, up from 2.75GHz.

CPU - 2.81Ghz 1.45v
MEM - 424Mhz 2.7v
FSB - 255MHz
HTT - 1022

In a buds DFI Ultra D it'll do 2.9 on high end air @ 1.44 vcore. But I am ready to give up on it and dump it into my fiances system,as she is a real Oblivion fan (She's using my old Asus P4p800-SE + 5900XT + 1.6a @ 2.53/3 256 meg sticks of OCZ pc3700 + SB Live + LG 1710sk lcd).Come Q2,I am grabing a E4300/or E6320,A Gigabyte 965P-DS3 2.0,and a 2 Gig kit of Corsair XMS2 Pro (Love those flashing lights.... Keep the HT under 1000 to keep it stable.

I don't have a stability problem.

I managed to get this guy going even faster. Here's what I'm running now...

Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego @ 2.84GHz @ 1.425v
Corsair XMS 2GB CAS 3 @ 429MHz @ 2.7v
Asus A8N-SLI Premium @ 258Mhz x11, HTT @ 1032MHz

My temps do not go above 49C.

I had to reduce to 2450Mhz (10x245) after updating my vid card to the XFX geforce 8800GTS, Company Of Heroes crash after 10 minutes of playing at 2500Mhz so 2450Mhz for me. Rock Solid.

Joe:

What are your details on your overclock. I have a new Opti 170 that I am running at 2.50 gHz. I have not pushed it because my temps are on the high side. I am at 10x250, with my HT divider at 80% which produces a perfect 1000 HT. I have fairly cheap ram that is holding its own at DDR 500 speed at 8-3-3-3-1T. Because the ram at 250 and the HT at 1000 with the 80% (my motherboard only allows 100,80,60,40,20), it seems like a natural place for the Opti to sit. All voltages standard and I am using the boxed HS/Fan.
