Maybe nVidia is hiding the 8800 series true power for just a while longer until ATi releases there card. I think nVidia is going to give us a nice performance boost with the series 10 driver....well i hope (xmasgrin)

Yeah, who also thinks the 'first' 8800 enabled driver will be a pile of muck too?

(p.s... Will gladly eat humble pie for good drivers) ;)

do you know what Humble pie is ?

the "humble's" are the guts of the animal eg heart, lungs, intestine need i say more

so i would think again about your statement

Sounds like black pudding, good with a fryup, or a mini fry-up in a roll.

"NVIDIA has had a Vista driver for Geforce 8800 GTX and GTS in the house for at least three weeks now.
Our informative eastern sources say it exists but they cannot get it hold of it. Nvidia is being very conservative about this driver.

But we expect the 32-bit version to be published any day now"

Dude its not about the right to choose, ive been using vista since before RC1 and currently im using builds no one here even has, the point is if you know an IHV does not have the required driver and will wait for the "official launch", instead of being all hurt about it, dual boot with XP, not that hard really......

I have an 8800 myself im used to be in the same boat as you, be patient please...when MobileNV said there is light at the end of the tunnell he meant it, just suffer a little more and give us a chance to help.

It's all good.

And I can only assume the 64-bit version will be published any month now. :(

no...this is not correct at all. in order to get WHQL you need to have both 32bit and 64 bit drivers. from my understanding the is a requirment for vista.

That's interesting being that they singled out the 32-bit driver for imminent release.

I'm desperate. I'll cling to any source. (mag)

Well apparently it took the Inq about a month to find out what we already know...nVidia's site says it wont have a driver until late January. Um...we've known this for the longest time now...Way to be on top of things Inq (and you had to have a "reader" tell you about it).

** GeForce 8800 requires updated drivers for Vista, which will be available to download when Vista is available at retail in late January.
