Well, I'm waiting for my last items from DD to arrive today (8800, 680i blocks and 240 rad). In the meantime though I have been thinking of how to cool the MCP (SB) on the 680i with a 8800GTX in place. Nvidia really didn't think this one through very well.

I didn't want to put a little 40mm fan chipset block on as the entire point of going WC was to be QUIET. The HR-05-SLI had promise but had positioning issues and again would need its own fan.

So I started thinking about the extra Maze 4 chipset block I had. The problems were that the block screwhole mounts were to thick and wouldn't let the 8800GTX fit into the MB all the way AND if lined up with the MB holes, the barbs would still be in a rather unattainable position.

SO:

I cut off the "long" mount slot to avoid running into the video card and also so that I could turn the block into a more useful position. The zip ties are no where NEAR as tight as a real mounting setup, but it makes good contact and only turns a bit if one tries to. I'm hoping that with the DD 8800GTX glock on I will still have good clearance and use of the barbs (we should find out in a few hours when FedEx shows).

Wish me luck

P.S. I plan on going pump-rad-CPU-GPU-NB-SB-res. If anyone has a better suggestions (and reasons) post them up. I'm mostly going this route for less tube kinkage/harsh turns.
