6150 LE

Hey guys
Just need some expert opinion on how bad is 6150 LE integrated card. Now I like to play games such as FEAR, CS:Source, DOD:Source, and HL2, and how would my current card be able to provide satisfactory frame rates. Also please give names of other cards that would give a great boost in graphics but cost under 200 US. My other specs are AMD 64 3700, 2 gigs ram, and 7200 RPM 200 gig hard d.

The 6150LE is considered a budget or low-end graphics solution by most gamers.

Most "3D" games would need to be played at 800x600 or lower with many graphics settings turned down.

Not knowing if you have AGP or PCIe, I cannot really make any solid recommendations.

6800GT or better would be a good idea with the processor and ram you have though.

A 7600 GT PCI-E or AGP would do you fine and it should be under $200.

THe 7600GT is the better option. And you can get it for AGP and PCI-E

ok, my comp actually has an open pci-e slot so thats better i guess then agp i guess.

To give you some numbers to work on:
6150LE is about as fast (slow) as a GeForce 3 Ti500. (nVidias fastest card in 2001...)
So yeah, it's very, very slow.

7600GT is about 6 times faster. :D

The 7600GT is faster in most cases compaired to the 6800GT.

ok i am probably going to purchase a 7600GT card. In your opinions, what are the best manufacturers of that card ie BFG, ASUS, MSI, u know, those ones. I just know there r so many its kindda hard to make a decision.

you could get a 7800gs for 200 at newegg.com as well. It performs pretty similar to a 7600gt but will beat it when overclocked.

I always buy the cheapest. Usually the difference in build quality isn't very big between the manufacturers. The main difference lies in the bundle.
