So this may sound crazy to some of you, but after several years of trying to find a mouse that is comfortable and performs how I want it to...I'm going to be buying a couple (one for backup) original Microsoft IntelliMouse with IntelliEye (http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-IntelliMouse-IntelliEye-PS2-USB/dp/B00002JXBL/sr=1-1/qid=1165510462/ref=sr_1_1/102-7993162-2289713?ie=UTF8&s=electronics).

Yes the original that came out the same time the explorer did. This mouse lasted me for 3 years, and I've gone through about 5 mice since then, never finding anything that could match up. So I'm going backwards, it may not nearly be as accurate, but oh well.

Have you guys ever gone backwards with your tech?

Heh, I was going to ask if that mouse was PS2 or serial. :) Saw it's actually ps2/usb.

I can't remember the last time I went backwards with a component. Usually the reason why I buy something new is because it is better, and I really haven't had a time where what I bought wasn't as good as what I had.

I see nothing wrong with this.

I HIGHLY recommend stockpiling mice and keyboards that you like. I find equipment that I actually don't HATE using is rare.

I gave up my MX Revolution for my trusty old MX 1000 :)

I also bought a manual car after owning an Automatic :D

Manual ftw!
QFT!

EDIT: oh and no I can't think of any time I've gone "backwards" with my hardware...

It doesn't matter if you go backwards or not, as long as you like it. I haven't done so, that I can think of, but wouldn't rule it out either.

And yes, manual FTW!

I went back from combo DVD-CDRWs back to just simply CDR-W or DVDR-W. I find the combos slow in reading (if at all reads) discs.
