Alright guys and gals. Here's the scoop. I'm running 2 comps off a D-Link router.

Comp 1: My sig. Uses onboard LAN.

Comp 2: P4 @ 1.6
Asus mobo
Geforce 3
512 pc800
D-Link nic
WinXP pro

Both run fine on the network. No problems at all. I'm adding a 3rd comp (don't laugh)

Comp 3: AMD k6-2 @ 500
Aopen mobo
256 sdram
voodoo4 4500
Linksys nic
Win98 se

Problem: Comp 3 won't see the other 2 comps or connect to the internet like it 'should'. It only sees itself on the network, but again, it doesn't connect online. All the comps are using DHCP so the router is assigning the IP addresses. Everything on comp 3 is installed and is configured the same as the other 2 comps.

What am I doing wrong? Friends bring thier comps over all the time and have no trouble hopping on the lan. Been driving me crazy.

I used to have a 3rd system on the network but sold that one. It's specs: Athlon t-bird @ 1.2
Biostar M7MIA
512 ddr
Geforce4 MX 440
Linksys nic
Win98 se

That one worked fine. Any suggestions would be fab.:)

Heh, dont worry about it. Sometimes taking the time to write out the problem allows you to get a different perspective on it, happens to me alot to. When i cant solve something, i usualy start writting a post (which usualy never gets posted) or go get something to eat. The solution usualy comes when you least expect it.

hehe that happens, but if you had win2k/XP pro/linux you would be better off : D
