DS = 918,000
PS2 = 664,000
GBA = 641,000
360 = 511,000
Wii = 476,000
PSP = 412,000
PS3 = 197,000

These are guestimates from NPD, other figures I've seen place the Wii at over 500K and the Xbox 460 a little above 600K.

I don't think these are correct. I'm pretty sure Nintendo made a press release before December saying that they had sold over a million Wiis.

1 Million Worldwide. Those figures are just for the US.

Well if it's US figures that makes more sense then.

NPD sales don't include the last days of november, their projections stop at the 25th. All the consoles sold in those days will be computed as december sales.

That is why the title says "November US sales figures

Of course the PS3 numbers account for every single PS3 in the market. Sony really sucks for not having enough PS3s to fill demand, not like I want one or anything.

I'm seeing a press release from Nintendo that claims 600000 before the end of November, just counting NA so if Canada got 125000 then that would be about right.

Also,
Frazier said she was “surprised” by the continued strong performance of the PS2 and GBA.
I'm not at all (maybe the GBA a little). We're actually buying my brother a PS2 for Christmas because he's a college student with not a lot of money and both the console and, more importantly for him, games can be had for much cheaper than any of the next-gen consoles. Plus, the newest console he has is a PS1, so the PS2 is going to be completely new for him. Oh, and his TV is 13", so hi-def graphics are pretty much wasted anyway.:D

Considering the fact that most people probably still don't view a console as a high-end gaming system, even $250 for the Wii would seem rather steep.

Umm, hope he doesn't read this forum since it's supposed to be a surprise.(xmassign)

Wow the Wii owned the PS3.

Wow the Wii owned the PS3.

Every other console out there owned the PS3. Can't wait till the December figures. Going to be like 1.5 million for the Wii.

Wow the Wii owned the PS3.

Well what do you expect when the sold numbers were the amount of systems actually released... I have been playing my Wii more then my PS3 though, thanks to Zelda and Raving Rabbids...

Did anyone else know that Raving Rabbids is headed to all other systems? I might get the X360 version!

Guess the PSP aint dead after all and you would think the 360 would be able to outsell the PS2.

Didn't know that, and I'm really surprised. By all accounts the mini-games were written with the Wii control scheme in mind, so it doesn't seem like it would translate well.

Wow the Wii owned the PS3.

ZOMG you are so right!
Everywhere I go, PS3 systems sit rotting on the shelf and people ignore them to buy the other systems.
It is tragic.
Mine eyes am opened now, I repent my Sony fandom.

Just like the Wii.:rolleyes:

Not sure why I'm contributing to this pointless trolling line of thought.

Did I post anywhere about the wii?
I think saying one owned anything right now is jackassery and just trolling to start ****.
The wii and ps3 would have sold many more if they had the supplies and I am a fan of both.
A year from now there can be a more logical view.
Sorry that trying to be logical instead of being some knucle dragging jackass like others on here is considered trolling.

Ya think? Thank you for feeding the trolls. Which was really the point of my sarcastic reply to your sarcasm.

PS3 may be at the bottom of the list, but the reality is, they sold every stinking unit they put on the shelf. Had they shipped a million, they would be at the top of the list.

This chart just gives fanboys a reason to justify their purchase. I personally have a decent pc and a 360 and havent thought of trying anything else. Maybe a wii down the road when it gets dvd play back, but gears of war multiplayer and half-life 2 w/ hi-res packs do me just fine for now.

I don't think a million PS3's would have been sold from Nov 10 or whatever to Nov 30 had supply been there.

BTW here are 17,000 technically "unsold" PS3's:

http://video-games.search.ebay.com/playstation-3_Systems_W0QQcatrefZC12QQfromZR8QQsacatZ62054QQsa titleZQ22playstationQ203Q22

Those are in the hands of people who do not want them.

Which returns to my other point (besides don't feed the trolls) earlier. The Wii has sold out completely as well (with a lot more units, I might add), so we're debating in a vacuum as to who would be on top if there were complete availability. Heck, while we're coming up with hypothetical sales situations why don't we suppose that the 360 just released too with complete availability so we can get a fair comparison of the demand. You see why debating hypotheticals is pointless?

I agree that the numbers don't really mean all that much in the overall console wars at the moment and anyone who's taking them too seriously as an indicator of console success is wrong, but there's no point in making a pointless debate even more pointless. At the moment monthly numbers for PS3 and Wii are only interesting insofar as they indicate the supply, not the demand so nobody should be declaring any console a winner or loser yet (at least based on these numbers - argue about features and such all you want:)).

It's interesting to note that the PS3 and Wii have accumulated the same revenues, right around $120 million (assuming PS3s at $600 and Wiis at $250). I have no idea what that means though :p
