Do you guys think thats its a good time to upgrade right now.

Im currently on an aging AGP system, the motherboard has just failed, is it worth buying a brand new conroe rig right now or waiting a bit longer?

Thanks.

its worth buying a Conroe rig, if you are on a budget, note that AGP is pretty much dead, so go for a PCI_E mobo, get a Nforce 570/590 SLI mobo or if you want the Nforce 680i, go for the EVGA mobo and get a Intel e6300 or e6400 if you are on a budget, if not, go for a e6600-X6800 or have the most money, a QX6700

The Ati/AMD R600 is supposed to be available in late January, last time I checked.

Anytime is a good time to upgrade since every time you upgrade there is always something better around the corner,I think the Core 2 Duo E6600 is the best CPU for the bang for the buck ,nearly ever one I have seen will overclock just as high as the E6700 but you save almost enough to buy a good mother board like the Evga 680i SLI.The E6600 I have will do 3.6gigs on stock voltage and I run mine at 3.7gigs at 1.4v.
