It's been a while since I checked my 3dmark06 numbers, and last night I checked them with the new driver that has been released.
I now get 8300 compared to 9500 that I used to. There has been several driver releases since I last checked.
Any ideas? (I have a 7950GX2 on a dual opteron system)
Thanks

what drivers do you have, it seams that the 97.02 and up are for the G80's only and the 93.71 are the latest for yours

Im currently running 93.71, but when I last checked 3dmark06 it was at least 4 generations of drivers previous.

My 7950 GX2 600/800 was breaking 9800 with 93.71. Were you overclocking the GPU before?

I was running 590/600 and hitting 9500 at 2.9 GHz Opteron 854's. Memory is ddr433. Thats probably the difference. The thing that is weird now, is that I get only 8300 and I have errors in the system event log saying that 3dmark06 can't find a file....
Time for a reinstall I think!

Who cares though, 3dmark is nothing but a number, try testing the new drivers on games versus the old ones, i'm sure theres an improvement.

A reinstall changes nothering.
Yup, it doesn't really matter, but I do not have past scores of my games either. Only 3dmark06, but why does it drop so much????

Have you tried the new 97.44 drivers yet? I went from 10,248 to 10,360 after installing them. You should be able to find a modded .ini version to be able to run on the 7950GX2 over at www.guru3d.com. Hope that helps.

I saw significantly decreased (~30%) performance in Hitman: Blood Money (D3D) after upgrading from 91.47 to 93.71. A complete format didn't help.
