Westinghouse 32W-6 (http://www.nemebean.com/stuff/Wii07.jpg)

It's not a very good picture, but it's all I've got right now. I must have been too close for my camera because there's some weird fish-eye going on (one guy I showed this to actually told me to switch my Wii to widescreen - which it already was - because he thought the image was stretched) and the optical viewfinder didn't line up with the actual lens, which is the reason it's framed so badly.

720p, 50inch LG Plasma my dad bought a while back. Gets more use from me though. Still saving up for one in my bedroom.

Too lazy to take actual pics.:o Minus the stand since I mounted it on the wall.

Here's my new Vizio 46" LCD HDTV. I'm also running an XBox 360 with the new XBox HD-DVD Player. Pure eye-candy at 1080i Please note: The image quality is by far better in person compared to this photo taken which flashed at the screen to lower the image quality during the short photo session.
Pictures can't judge what you would normally see in real time. HD is wonderful! :D

- Xbox 360 w/ Monstercable Gamelink component cables 24K Gold plated

That looks a lot like my setup, except your shelves must be wider because I could never fit a 46" on mine. My 32" is about as big as I can go without finding a new place to put it.

I got an almost 3 years old 50" Sony KF-50WE610. It is 720p and 1080i with DVI input. (no HDMI back then).

I recently bought a brand new RCA HDV5000 HD-DVD player off eBay for just $300 shipped. It works great.

Yes the shelve is very large at 49 1/2" across. I love my setup! (nana2)

Currently using the Westinghouse LVM-37W1 (1080p) with an external Samsung HDTV tuner for OTA broadcast. Using a PS3 for blu-ray and the X360 addon for HD-DVD. I really want the Sony 46" 1080p LCD or the Samsung 46" 1080p LCD though.

Sony KDL-32S2000 720p

Using custom HTPC with DVI to HDMI connection.

I still have problems with the H264 hw decoding, cause, some european streams hang the geforce hardware decoding, & by software, i haven't enough power even with my dual core cpu. :(

Just got a Sharp Aquos 46 inch 1080p today, it's amazing. Im so glad I didn't buy 720p a year ago.

I am borrowing a PS3 for the weekend, and I just finished watching Black Hawk Down on Blu-Ray. Even though I have seen the movie like 20 times, I was completely glued to the screen. If Blu-Ray is this good, I cant imagine how HD-DVD could be better...

Yea, I never understood why someone would buy an HDTV and settle for 720P.

I'm acctually looking for an HDTV as well. I'm just looking for a medium sized (32" or so) for a cheap price- something to last me for a couple years. I'll probably end up with a walmart off brand one, but anything is better than my 19" Philips.

Well a normal person would probably settle for 720p, they'd probably think it was good. Of course they don't even know what 720p actually means. But as far as anyone here, I cant see them settling for 720p just because quality wise, 1080p isn't much better then 1280x1024. Most people on this forum play @ that res or higher, so 720p would be a step back.

Here's mine:

http://home.cfl.rr.com/romain/pics/ht1.jpg

JVC HD61FN97
Scientific Atlanta 8300HD DVR cable box
XBOX 360 w/ HD DVD (my awesome wife found a premium system at a garage sale for 150 bucks)
Yamaha RX-V420
Klipsch mains, center, and sub
Mirage rear satellites
Logitech Harmony remote for XBOX 360
Logitech DiNovo Edge (http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-967685-0403-diNovo-Edge/dp/B000J43HJ8/sr=8-1/qid=1168791276/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/104-4541825-0499921?ie=UTF8&s=electronics) Keyboard
(waiting for 8800 Vista driver to complete the HTPC)

Not long now to wait for the Vista drivers. Once available I'll be able to use the system as a media hub to distribute TV and movies to the other TVs in the house.

The Logitech DiNovo Edge keyboard is drop-dead sexy (props to J-Mag for pointing it out to me). Just holding it in your hands gives you a woody and compels you to surf porn. It's almost a piece of art.

Heh, I was stunned when the wife came home with it last weekend and told me she only paid 150 bucks.

The Klipsch mains are the SF-3 model. I picked them up online a couple of years ago for a little less than $500.00 for the pair, shipped, though I can't remember the name of the place where I got 'em from. Great speakers. I need to get a bigger sub though. It's the 10" model. Since the living room has a 23' peak ceiling, and there's a loft, 10 inches doesn't quite cut it.

My wife thinks 10" is plenty though. :p

:rofl

I'll likely be an apartment or duplex again in whatever place I end up moving to, so it almost feels like getting a new badass home theater isn't worth it quite yet since I won't be able to have it any level that would make the purchase worth it.

I guess I'll have to wait and see where I go next and how the neighbors are before I invest in a new HT. The Sony I have is more than adequate and it does a great job with all sorts of inputs and support...but having that with a majestic, 60" HDTV just seems like a slap to the TV's pride. :p

I'm in the same predicament. It sure would be nice getting that 61" DLP, but I live on the third floor and I know I'll be moving in August.

You do realize that on a 42" screen or smaller, the differences between 720p and 1080p at a standard viewing distances of 7-12' become minimal at best. And on a screen that size 1080p becomes more of a bragging right than someting that will be a glaring difference.

you could see the difference if you were 2-3' away, but that's just plain stupid on a display that size :D
