As most of you know I own a fully calibrated Sony KD-34XBR960. I'll see if I can get some pictures uploaded eventually (my camera kinda sucks though).

Right now I'm thinking of also getting the Pioneer Elite PRO-FHD1 50" 1080p Plasma display. Although I think I'm going to wait a little bit and see how Pioneer's new "SED killing" Plasma tech pans out.

SED kills itself by never launching. Plasma is a dead technology. STILL poor black levels.

Here's my setup in my room.
Main reason for the purchase of the TV was my Xbox 360 and watching movies from my PC through the TV.
TV = Mitsubitshi WD-52631 1080p
Receiver = Harman Kardon AVR320
Speakers = Infinity something or other (can't remember model) they're decent but not great.

I didn't think much when getting good pictures since I was recording South Park (should have setup DVD through 360 or something). I will say that SD looks like crap on this TV though but I will chalk that up to my crappy Sat Connection, that will be fixed once my HD Receiver comes in. I also ordered the AVIA Dvd to hopefully help me properly calibrate my TV but I am thinking about getting it calibrated by an ISF Tech.

I got a feeling Pioneer created a whole new tech and is just kind of slapping the Plasma label on it.

Does your bass get eaten up in that great room?

I've got a similar sort of room except it has a peak ceiling instead of the high ceilings, as well as a loft to one side, and it just swallows whatever bass I can throw at it.

Yeah. the accoustics make decent sound a pain. The sub does kick ok since we are so close to the TV.

LOL, we have a season or 7 as well as all the Angel and Smallville (well, as of Smallville Season 5 I am switching to HD DVD and Blue Ray). Also have Season 6 of Sorpranos in HD DVD (did not get PS 3 until after that).


I did have a small LAN party at my house a few months back. . .Flatout 2 and COH all night long. Plus the guys loved watching Terminator 3 in HD.:afro:
