So tomorrow is my birthday....and my parents got me a present!!! A Sharp AQUOS 42" 1080p LCD (http://www.sharp.ca/products/index.asp?cat=30&id=661)!!!!! I've got it hooked up to my home theater PC and it looks amazing!! I'll try and post some pics one of these days....really busy with school and stuff right now...

Just joined the HD club myself a few days ago with the help of a 42" Sharp Aquos. I'm more than impressed and very pleased with it.

Well I have posted it elsewhere but not here yet: I use a Westinghouse LVM-47W1 as both a PC monitor and a TV. Sometimes simultaneously with the PIP feature. Works great for both, and 1080p goodness only cost me $1,540 after taxes. I'll put pics up as soon as I finish buying/building my audio system that is going to accompany it.

Panasonic AE1000U shot at 149" diagonal for my home theater. Toshiba XA2 and PS3 through a Denon 4306 into the Panny projector, HDMI all the way. Waiting on a JVC RS1.

For my PC, Dell 3007. PowerDVD Ultra 7, AnyDVD HD and an Xbox 360 add-on are good company to it. Looking forward to the Pioneer BD-ROM that's coming in the next few weeks. Never doubt the flexibility of a long, long HDMI cable run to a secondary HDMI port on a projector... ;)

Then there's the Sony 32" my Wii and PS2 are connected to... ;)

I use a Optoma HD72 ceiling mounted projector. It's 1280x768 (does 1280x720) for HDTV and DVDs that are upscaled. (either via my PC or DVD player)

It is one of the best projectors, at it's price, for HD 720 content. Deep and dark blacks, vibrant color, sharp and crisp even at the 100" projection I do.

I use it daily as my PC monitor too; it's bright enough. It uses an active iris to control brightness, hence why it has such good blacks when needed.

Playing the latest games at 100" and in THX Ultra sound is just an all encompassing blast I must say.

Same situation here, only using the HD70 instead of the 72. I'm totally pleased with the setup, and since it accepts component over the VGA connector, I've got a custom switch box to flick between my component and VGA sources. (The VGA cables let me make a long run without the ghosting caused by my RG6 component cables.) I'm also using a Pioneer audio decoder ran into my band's PA system. 5.1 surround (with 4 subwoofers) at over 2000 watts.

Btw, your CPU is quite slow. ;) I didn't know you could underclock it that much.

How is that PJ? I've seen the reviews for it and it sounds like it is another great leap over the 900U. What screen, throw distance, sitting distance do you have? How is the brightness? I know they released the ae-100U to replace the 900U and added brightness, but for some reason the 1000U they dimmed back down again.

Dell 24" here, not really a HDTV but still 1080p (cheapest 1080p option by far).

I Run HD-DVDs on PowerDVD Ultra versus the X360, because the 360 can only output DD and DTS, whereas with PowerDVD I get all the lossless audio formats output properly through analog output through X-Fi, including Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, PCM. Also the 360 doesn't scale properly on my A02 revision so I don't get the correct AR it's slightly stretched. Also on the PC I can use Digital Vibrance which I always like :).

A poor man's HT setup :D A larger screen would be nice, but I'm pretty close to it as I conveniently have a couch behind my computer chair :D

Damn Matrix Trilogy sounds awesome in TrueHD :D

Vizio's 42-inch 1080 LCD was going for $999 at Costco (with a $200 rebate). We compared and studied the images of comparable Sony and Sharp models, which may have been higher quality, but I was not disappointed with the Vizio model once I set it up at home.

I was skeptical at the store though as the display model was facing the main entrance and receiving more light than the other models. The display model was also one aisle over, where the Sony and Sharp were next to one another.

In the past I may have purchased the Sony, but this time I ended up saving a lot of money and received an affordable and quality 1080 LCD TV.

Vizio seems to have a good product on its hands and must be taking some of the business away from the big guys.

Nice. I almost bought that LCD 2 months ago. At the time it was a little more expensive but it sure was tempting. I ended up going with a 37" Sharp 720p. At my viewing distance it just seemed to be the better choice and it had the a lower response time compared to the Vizio. Anyways, congrats.

@ MikeC - Woot! I bought this TV as well...I searched for about 3 months before I stumbled on this one and am glad I did due to the money savings...Blu-Ray, PS3, Wii, HDTV...Everything looks awesome. I made a post about the TV right around when they came out/went on sale with coupon...Congrats on a great TV (so far! :) )

**EDIT** Your PC pics are great...I bought an DVI->HDMI cable, but havn't tried it yet...What are you using for a connection? I ask because some people over at AVS Forum were reporting blurry text using DVI->HDMI @ 1920x1280. If your running at 1080, I'll link your post over on the Vizio VU thread over there...Some people posted pictures of being successful, but thier pics didn't turn out nearly as well as yours...

I got the Westinghouse 37' LVM-37w3se from costco for 799.99 plus shipping and tx came to $907. They did not have them avail in stores. The 42 inch is nice but I do not see that rebate and now it is 1199.99. I love the 37 inch but the specs on that Vizio look good too.

The Vizio is1800:1, I have 1200:1 @ 1920x1080P

it takes some getting used to over a 19" LCd and my gamming has suffered a little in COD2 lol but hey I will take it over a 19" anyday...

I've seen these at Costco along side philips, panasonic, samsung, sharp and some other odd brand. There is no doubt that the Sharp has the best picture quality, then samsung after those two there's a noticable drop in overall PQ. Also I believe Sharp has several 1080p models with PC support upto 1920x1080, their gaming models come with a DVI-I instead of the usual VGA. Just my opinion though :)
