This picture is a bit old. I took it the day after I bought the TV and my (not really) shiny, new 360 I got for my birthday. It's a Westinghouse TX-42F430S, 42" HDTV As you can see, it was during the second Malibu Fires. I kept forgetting to send it to my email so I can upload it to photobucket.

I'm going to get a full motion wall mount for it. I hooked up my surround stereo system to it, it's an all black Fisher TAD-9925. Excellent for home theater. I'll put the system under my TV when I get a wall mount.

50" Panasonic (Plasma) TH50PX75U. I was considering the sony XBR around the same size but I got the panasonic for $1200 from Frys (regular $2200 at best buy) (nana2) (nana2)

And not to mention, I also had to budget in something to stick it on/in so we got a nice entertainment center for it. Again, regularly priced $2000 snagged it shipped and setup in our den for $1050. So it only took about $2300 for the TV and furniture.

We're going to the flea markets tomorrow to see if we can find some little nick-nacks to put in the little cubbys. Maybe some old hard back books, book ends, etc. The wife also wants an old iron bird cage or something to put up on top with the flower basket. She promised me a PS3 for my bday in May so until then, I'll have to just rock the good old 480i DVD :(

Cut it close! Half an inch of vertical clearance and 1.2 inches of horizontal clearance on each side.

It's messy right now, I got some things to clean up over the next week or so. And yes, that is my X360 box holding up my TV; the viewing angle so much better. Also, my wiring job from my apartment doesn't match with the house. ;)

I bought it on sale at Best buy for $2199 (Retail $3000).

Im not sure if it was an error but on the best buy website it showed $2199 yet when I went to the store in town they had it on display for $2499, Confused I told them what it showed online and they sort of disagreed.. Finally the sales rep called a manager who then confirmed what I saw online and sold it to me at that price ;)

The TV is currently #1 on CNET's top HDTV's list here (http://reviews.cnet.com/4370-6485_7-168-101.html?tag=lnav) and according to AVS forums it was rated #1 in a recent home theater mag HDTV roundup - Link (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=975840)

It has an amazing picture mainly due to the fact it has CRT quality black levels (even in a dark room) which plays a huge role in overall picture quality.

I saw that. I almost bought the 42" version of that samsung that got 2nd place but they had it next to the 50" PX75U model that's 780p and stepping back to the distance we'd be watching it from, the 50 was much more appealing.. I guess mainly due to it's size but I could'nt tell any lesser of picture quality.

Have you done any bias lighting on yours? Or anyone else here for that matter?

I'm thinking about hitting up home depot today for some rope lighting.

Yup saw it at Digi-Expo next to the LED backlit 52inch Samsung, and the Kuro was way better in terms of black level. But those go for around 3000€+ here :/. Well, back to my 100hz LG 37' :(...

Sony has improved PS3 Bluray playback and features with various firmware updates since it's release, it looks great my only minor complaint would be disc access speed during the initial movie load.

Use your brain. I am looking at this thread with a 24" 16:10 monitor at 1920x1200 resolution. The pics are about 5 INCHES diagonal. Would they look as good 100 INCHES diagonal? If you are using a 5" screen, just stick with DVD bro.

To judge a player you need to watch in actual motion, full size. Not pics on the ****ing Internet with your 19" LCD.
