I'm interested to see what everyone is using to display their HD content. I was torn between a Sony 46" XBR3 LCD http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?A=details&kw=SOKDL46XBR3&is=REG&Q=&O=productlist&sku=458492 and the Pioneer Elite 1140 HD pro http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v3/pg/product/details/0,,2076_310069729_331404007,00.html. After a lot of research I have decided to go with the Pioneer, the Sony seems to have the typical LCD issues, dead or stuck pixels, uneven backlighting, the XBR3 also has a bad cloudiness problem http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=748779.
Well lets see what you have :) bring on the Plasma v LCD wars (duel)

Holy s*** :afraid: The maximum size movie I've downloaded ever was T2 Extreme edition (or whatever it's called), and it weights around 7 GB. Weird resolution it has, though, I think its 1440x 816 (lee63)

You know what's poor? Having a 1080i version of Layer Cake and no one having a CPU good enough to watch it.

I was thinking about going Sony but I decided for the price (I got it for $1500) that I was able to get this one at I couldn't ignore it. The Sony is nice but too expensive for my budget right now.
I have watched Blu-Ray movies from my PS3, MI3 looked pretty dam good too me but I never seen an HD-DVD on a normal set, not at a local store.

Yeah I got it too, it was ripped from SkyHD, they use h264 for their movies. I encoded it to a 1080 VC1 wmv, so I can burn it and watch it on my 360. It looks amazing.

Main display is a Sony KDS-R70XBR2. 70" LCoS. Hey Lee I see you're in Temecula. If you want a demo of HD DVD versus BD I can give you one. You'll leave and go buy an HD DVD player. My 70"er really brings out BD's inferiority.

47 HD DVD's, two players, no issues. BD has a lot of issues with varying quality due to the lack of standards. Studios are allowed to release whatever garbage they want in whatever encode and sound. HD DVD has mandatory standards, so you get better overall quality per release.
Check out the releases on each format.

This is the TV I have.
JVC HD-52G787
http://jvc.ca/product-images/HD-52G787.jpg
It is a 720p 52" LCoS rear projection. My "home theater" components:
- Xbox 360 w/ component cables
- HD-DVD addon for Xbox360
- Oppo 971 DVD player with upconverting, region free, plays NTSC & PAL, DVD-Audio, and really good scaler/de-interlacer
- Logitech Z-5500 audio system
- Xbox 1 w/ component cables
- PS2 w/ component cables
- Motorola DCT6412 HD DVR
I plan to upgrade next year to either the 61" or 70" JVC 1080p model or possibly one of those Sony 1080p projectors that costs like $5000.
Here's my Home Theater system. Several years old but still looks and sounds too good to upgrade. At least for now:

Yea right now I would say HD-DVD is the way to go. I was really excited about Blu-Ray for a while with its massive storage capacity but, it really is not looking good.
