I can't see the linked images... but honestly I will use this thread to get it out... I will be buying a Wii sometime next year (Christmas for the loss)... not because games look great or WHAOMG TEH REVOLIXION!... but after last gen... I was used to having all of the systems and anytime ANY game came out, I could buy it and know that I could play it without problems... having only 2/3rd of the whole thing sucks.

How the hell does someone do that to their knee playing Tennis in Wii Sports. I mean...I just don't understand it. How uncoordinated do you have to be to pull that off? It's just mind blowing to me.

Wow... I can understand possibly having the strap break and go flying or whatever... but yeah... dislocating your knee and stuff is a bit hard to believe :\.

Oh I remember hearing that story. Apparently her drunk boyfriend came home and tried to "protect her" by seizing the controller, flailing wildly and drunkenly, and "accidentally" clocking her in the face.

Edit: Full story about it

"The day our Wii arrived also happened to be when my work was holding our Christmas party. Not being one to forego free booze, off I went leaving the girlie to play to her hearts content.

After guzzling a copious amount of 'wife beater' (Stella Artois) - I returned home to find the girlie in mid battle with a Zelda 'Boss'. In my inebriated state, it was instinctual to become her knight in shining armour. I proceeded to take the controllers off her and fight the beast myself.

Unfortunately, my courage was far greater then my skill. Having taken a good kicking, Liz then tried to intervene with disastrous results. She approached me from the side, appearing from my blind spot, whilst I was performing a slashing movement. I hit her with full force right in her eye!

I truly thought I'd blinded her and was almost about to call an abulance but then her pain died down. You can see the results of the accident in the attached photo...

I'm lucky that Liz is a good sport, but it did cost me, Liz has first dibs on the Wii... a small price to pay - I guess :( -Jim"

lol

also, why do ppl move it so hard/fast? i would be very cautious, especially when moving the controller towards a $2000 TV heh.

They either have more money than sense, or parents that buy them anything.

I can understand why the straps are breaking but what i dont understand is why people are letting go of the wiimote itself for the strap to snap in the first place :wtf:

I know the wiimote isnt the easyest to grip and some people get sweaty hands but jeez thay must have vaseline on their hands for it to slip out at such a speed crack a hard tv screen.

Also ive noticed in the pics with the broken tv glass but the wiimote is plastic and is still intact. something strange is going on here!

The wiimotes are very sturdy. I saw a video on one of the big game sites where they abused the Wii to see how it would hold up. They threw the controller hard against the wall, stood on it, jumped up and down on it a little, and it still worked just fine. Nintendo built the things to last.(xmasmile)

Nintendo if anyone is the biggest idiot for creating a controller you wield around other crap trying to mimic real life. I can imagine all the law suits once a Star Wars game is released.

Wow, I'm convinced. Thank you for that insightful (or would inciteful be more appropriate?) and obviously completely unbiased view.

Definitely.

And we should be using car companies for giving us these vehicles that can collide and cause monumental damage when idiots drive. It's never the consumer's fault. It's always the manufacturer who is to blame for eveyrhing that goes wrong with a product. :rolleyes2

Its not bias but Nintendo has been slipping under the radar with the Wii even though they have a terrible line up where the only standout is a port available on a cheaper console. Now people are having the wiimotes fly out of there hand doing what Nintendo says they should be doing and there idiots. And you may want to check out the massive recall thread right below this one.

I thought all of this wiimote vs. tv incidents were faked... until I witnessed my 6 year old nephew losing grip of the wiimote while playing wiisports (he didnt have the strap on his wrist tho) , it didnt hit my tv but it did fly forward and hit the bottom of the entertainment center , the sound it made was horrible I thought for sure the wiimote was damaged but it still works flawless.
