I'm running FreeBSD 6.1 with the latest verison of the nvidia driver form ports and I got the damn black bar problem that occurs with toshiba laptops... Does anyone know how to fix this in FreeBSD

Probably the same as for Linux.. I suspect you need a ModeLine entry in xorg.conf.
