Better title: "Limp wristed morons can't control themselves, so nintendo works to moron-proof its product."

I think we need a padded room in which to play Wii, as if we don't what if little timmy does a backflip while playing Wii sports and breaks his neck? Le gasp!

I'll take a defective strap from a Wii over a defective system like the last 3, 360's i've had...

This is such bull****. A recall on a controller strap? lmfao.

The strap isn't defective, it just isn't dumbass proof.

"There will be no product recall. There is no problem with the wrist strap as long as the Wii Remote is used sensibly and properly in accordance with the guidelines provided by Nintendo. However, we will be providing replacement wrist straps free of charge to consumers who request them."

I bet less than 2% of Wii owners will take advantage of it. I know I won't. My wrist strap works perfectly fine becasue I'm not flailing around like a jackass.

I love it when Sony fanboys try to bash the Wii. Sony has lied their ass off repeatedly about the PS3, and the best the fanboys can come up with for the Wii is OMg bRoKEN w|RIST stRAP!! PRODUKT RECALL PRODUKT RECALL!!

It's no more of a recall than MS extending their 360 warranty for people who have one manufactured before Jan, or when Sony had to offer to repair PS2's after losing a class action lawsuit (stupid DREs).

Now shush fanboys. Nobody's **** doesn't stink.

Never said anything of the sort so stop being an idiot... You posted a comment that said that there is no recall but clearly they are willing to replace 3.2 million straps... so if its not a recall then its a warrenty exchange...

I love how Nintendo can do no wrong, They advertise there console as a system you can play by being fully active but when people start doing exaggerated movements like in the commericials and end up getting hurt, its their fault.

Anyone else rememeber E3 when they were playing Tennis by running around on stage and making large swing animations....

As I see it none of the problems I've read about have been caused by the Wiimote. It is all human error! I applaud Nintendo for trying to address this issue.

Of course it is, Im not trying to imply that the Wii is punching people in the face or that its causing the injuries, what I think is the problem is that Nintendos advertisments have people playing the Wii using exaggerated movements so people try to play like that and end up getting hurt because unlike the commericials that aren't really playing the game, they are and when they get too caught up into it they stop being careful and start flaying around like idiots.

It's like the car commericials... they have a SVU climbing rocks or a family car racing at high speeds on a mountain track... it makes people think that its possible... remember most people in todays age are pretty gullible because their are ****ing retards.

:rofl

i wish someone would post a video clip of some douchebag trying to be cool with his wii and flinging it all over, then throwing the controller through his nice $3000 plasma tv. omg i would love to see that.

i should buy a wii, then maybe that douchebag can be me :D
seriously though, i need to try this console out.

This is a good example of what it takes to break that strap.

So note to self, no sweaty gorilla swings! You aren't chopping down a tree here.

I gotta agree with Magus, yeah you're a retard for swinging the wiimote in exaggerated movements.... but, Nintendo is the one advertising and promoting those type of motions in their commercials.

See, there is a difference between exaggerated movement, and swinging like you are trying to cave in someone's skull. You can make a wide swing, without swinging with all your strength. You'd think this stuff would be common sense.

well diving behind a couch is just as stupid if you ask me.

Are we comparing retarded commercials now? I'm sorry, but have you seen Sony's stuff? That weird schizophrenic baby doll that cries blood when it sees the PS3 damn near gave me nightmares.

I think you misunderstood me. I was trying to say that diving behind a couch is just as dumb swinging your hand as hard as you can. It's also just as easy to break the strap in both situations.

I actually don't follow. How would one break the strap diving behind the couch? They get it snagged on something?

I'm saying it's stupid erratic behavior; it's not necessary. And I don't see how you can't imagine breaking straps, or hurting yourself by throwing yourself behind a couch. The point is, everyone is saying that you can just sit on a couch and play the wii like any other console with slight arm movements.... but you don't see that in Nintendo commercials, they want you to get more involved in it.
