I cannot make the nvidia driver work for my Fedora Core 6 on my Dell Precision 390. It worked on my old FC4 but now, the X system does not want to start. I install the driver using the livna xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-1.0.9742-3.lvn6 package

If I put any other card I have (GeForce 6800 or 7900), the machine works fine. When I put the 8800, I can see the "NVidia Driver Beta" splashscreen for a second, but it never goes further. After a couple of flickering, the X server complainsit cannot start. The log says:

I know this isn't going to help, but I installed FC6 on my system (8800GTX), and X works fine. Are you updrading from a prior version of FC or doing a fresh install?
