Go into your bios and change the PCI-ex link width from 16X to 8X

If you have one of the old SLI mobo with Dual 8x slots or one just at 16x use the Sli mode on the mobo and then your main slot should run in 8x. if your BIOs dosen't allow you to change the speed anyway...

The question is why?

Like I said unless you have an old SLI motherboard you can't.

Exactly, why would you want to run your PCI-ex slot at less than optimal speed?
