I tried running the nTune 5.0 app, but it immediately locks the machine.

Is there any option other than nTune for overclocking the 8800 cards?

Thanks.

Do you mean 5.05.18.00 or do you just have 5.0? I use ntune 5.05.18.00 but a lot of people use RivaTuner or ATITools. For ntune, you need to grab the latest motherboard bios for the A8N32 for it to work.

I don't recall which build of 5 I was using, but I downloaded it only a few days ago.

I will try upgrading my BIOS.

Thanks!

If you downloaded it recently, you have the right version. It's most likely the bios then. It definitely doesn't work without the latest bios.

Stupid question time....I've had a 1900XTX for awhile so maybe I missed something.
Do cool-bits no longer work for the 8800 cards? Is there no way to simply OC from ForceWare?

ATITOOL will overclock it and it has that artifact tester. But most of the 8800GTS will overclock to at least 630/1800,the ones I have will run stable at 655/1900.

That's good news, but with my CPU I think I'll only be looking for a small bump to like 550/1700 just to say I did it ;) hehe
