Is there such thing as this? I'm sorry, but 24" is just way too big imo. I like small monitors, but I also like high resolutions. I have a big high quality CRT at home, but its a sight for sore eyes and needs to be in the garbage.

Laptops can have 1920x1200 resolution on a 17 INCH monitor, why can't LCD's? Why do LCD's have to be so large to accomidate that resolution? Does ANYONE know of an LCD monitor that displays 1920x1200 resolution that is UNDER 21 inch in size? This 20.1" widescreen monitor I have now is nice, but the resolution just simply isn't enough. Not when I have a $659 video card it isn't.

Nope dude, there aren't any unless you get a laptop with which you could have a 17" WUXGA display.

There are 23" monitors with 1920x1200, but I've never seen one smaller than that with that resolution. :(

Eizo has a 22" which has a resolution of 1920x1200, but I'm guessing you don't want to pay that much for a monitor. ^^ http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/wiki/index.php?title=Master_Monitors_List

Don't dwell on this too long or your head will explode. It makes no sense what-so-ever.

Am I the only one that things its absolutely rediculous that this is how it is? A freaking laptop can have a 1920x1200 display on a SMALL 17 inch monitor, but I can't? Hell, I even said I would settle for 20 inch.

This is pissing me off, because this laptop I am working on ATM is only 17 inches with 1920x1200 resolution and it looks absolutely GORGEOUS. I HATE having to turn my head playing a game. I constantly am having to turn my head for playing on my 20 inch monitor. On 24 inch it just gets worse.

That's an AWESOME list. And that monitor looks hella sweet, but for $5300, I think I'd rather by 4 Dell 3007WFPs. :p

No, I find it incredibly ridiculous as well. I'd love to be able to snag a 20.1" widescreen monitor with 1920x1200 (as long as it was substantially cheaper than a 24").

Is there a way to just grab the monitor from a 17 inch laptop, throw a stand on it and call it a day? :)

Hell it can be double the price of a 24" inch monitor for all I care. I'd be happy to spend $1200+ on a monitor that fits my EXACT needs.

How close do you sit to your monitor? Because I rarely have to turn my head...(using my 24"). But no, you're not crazy. I don't understand why laptops can have that insane resolution but LCDs can't. Kinda weird.

very close. My head is about 12 inches from the screen. I find that the further I am away from the screen, the worse I do.

Laptops with 15.4" LCDs can have a WUXGA (1920x1200) resolution - amazing monitors!

the reason laptops have high res with a small screem is because generally youre much closer to the screen... im using a dell 2405fpw 24" and i sit 40" away from it and i feel im too close sometimes.. i can read everything on it fine at twice that distance with default font size.... i do have 20/15 vision tho

I'll do it for $10,000 and you have to buy all the parts plus pay shipping both ways.
