It's like ATI's equivalent of the 7950GX2. A little late to the game though, don't you think? :o

Wow. That would be crazy if there were an AGP version. I'm not even sure how that'd work. :p
I wonder how many folks would cough up the money for this with dx10 right around the corner. This thing can't be cheap.
Why the heck would anyone buy this over the G80 or the soon to be released *cough* R600? Waste of time.

If it was cheap. It could be quite a potent card. Though having seen the effect the G80 has on "next gen" games (360 ports). You would be crazy to pass over the 8 series.

It wouldn't. Remember the ATI Rage Fury MAXX? It was a dual-chip AGP card that used driver trickery to fool Windows 98 (the card never supported 2k) into seeing one PCI device and one AGP. It sort of half worked where a lot of times you'd get the AGP device rendering "ahead" of the PCI one, creating inconsistent frame rates. The 3dfx VSA-100 (Voodoo 4/5) was two PCI GPUs, hence why that solution worked better.
It could, like the Volari Duos did. Not that it`d make much sense though, I don`t know if there are a lot of AGP dudes ready to shell out the dollares for something like that.
I was concidering buying another AGP card, X1950Pro to be precise, i am glad i did not because prices of the 8800GTS have came down and i rekon that dual X1950Pro card would be like almost as costly as the 8800GTS :\

And will probably be similar in performance (at best) but lacking DX10 support. As such, the GTS would be the better buy.
