so lcd scaling doesnt work in 97.44 drivers? damn nvidia get on the ball!!! ill just wait, the filtering in the 96.xx drivers is angle dependent.

It works for me. Make sure Treat as HDTV is unticked.

If you have Treat as HDTV ticked you can't get the Scaling options at all. I've had the scaling options on both the 97.02 and 97.44 set and they do not stick. Supposedly the 96.xx ones for the 8800 do scale though. 97.44 caused Red Orchestra to BSOD on me, so I'm back to 97.02... hopefully they'll get the scaling fixed for the new drivers.

As a note, though, it may be an 8800 thing or possibly a widescreen thing... The settings on my 6600GT at work stick on a normal 19" LCD monitor. You can tell they'll work because the screen blinks between changing, but here there is no blink and the settings reset immediately.

I have a widescreen and scaling options work a-ok. Have you just tried using nvtray to unlock all hidden menus. It might help somehow.

Nah, that didn't do anything.

I can go into the option to adjust flat panel scaling, chose fixed aspect ratio, and the popup saying that my display has changed with the countdown appears, but the monitor doesn't flash and there's no evidence the selection took effect.

Then I can leave the menu, come back and it will be at the default setting again.

With VGA I got greyed options with any driver and 6600GT, wwith DVI not problems at all.

I am having the same problem in both classic and nvidia control panel.

I have only tried with 97.44 drivers tho, as I only just got a 30" Dell LCD.

Pretty weird how it just wont save the settings.

Same issue with not saving the settings as others. Tried 97.02, 97.28, 97.44, all the same. Using 96.89 for now but this is stupid. Does Nvidia know this is a problem? And do we know if it's the driver or something in the control panel (in other words is there a way to update the display driver without the CP?)

Yeah I've had this problem ever since I got my 8800 GTX a couple of months ago as well. Even the 96.89 drivers are somewhat flaky in this regard, although it works sometimes, other times it doesn't. And on the 97.XX drivers it just plain doesn't work. I think the problem only occurs when you have a 8800, as I used my 7950 GX2 with the same drivers and the scaling worked fine.

Anybody found a fix yet for the scaling options not sticking with the 97.44's?

Bumping this to see if anyone has found a cure yet?
Having some 4:3 pics streched across my wide screen just doesn't look right? :(

**EDIT** did a bit of searching and found that the 96.89 work fine for me :)
