Logitech Mouses on Clearance @ Best Buy

when at work today I noticed we have the MX518 for $39.99 on clearance... (not bad considering its same price on newegg, but you wouldn't have to pay $5 shipping)

also the G5 is on clearance for only $35.99

I think I am going to pick up a G5 just because the price is soo good... eventhough I already got my Razer Copperhead (employee discount $45).

for $36 bucks it seems worth it as a back-up ......... lol

Great price on the G5. Anyone who needs a mouse update would do very well to get it. I paid $55 for mine shortly after it was released, and it's been worth every penny thus far.

wonder why the g5 is on clearance... from what i've read the older optical mice like the mx518 are actually better than the new laser ones which pisses me off cause I have a g7.

I had an MX518 for a bit, and I like the G5 a lot more.

The only reason that I know of which makes the 518 better is because it has that extra little button on the side. The G5 is a laser mouse, with higher dpi and acceleration, and more reports per second. It also features an adjustible weight cartridge, and allows you to set up to 5 different sensitivity levels. It can track on more surfaces than an optical mouse can, and doesn't get effected by varying colors on a mousepad. (I've seriously seen optical mice get stupid on mousepads with designs on them. Can't say that of any lasers I've had.)

A co-worker and I stopped by BB today and he picked a G5 up for that price. Probably the best price you'll see for this excellent mouse. My dad gave me a G5 for Christmas and I love it. Laser > Optical, no question.
