1st test was using trilinear quality AF (128 tap aniso)
2nd was using performance AF (64 tap aniso)
3rd test was using only trilinear filtering with no AF
4th 4x FSAA and 128 tap aniso

The slider for both was set on 16x. No AA was used.
So where is the AF performance hit using trilinear? Wasn't is supposed to be like 20%? :)
Benchmarking I have used the exact same path and have jumped and shot at certain points for the tests to remain consistant as possible.

This game isn't the only game where 128x AF takes jack all performance hit over 64 tap and even no AF.

May I ask why? (using cat 3.1)

I played at 1024x768 everything set to max.
$0400000005 AGP rate : 1x 2x 4x supported, 4x selected
$0400000006 AGP SBA : supported, enabled

Might be your are being held back by your CPU.

Or is it your memory sub-system?

UT2003 is nortorious for liking fast memory and lots of it. Try reducing your AGP Aperture size, and see if you get some more.

avg 73 FPS with 4x AA and 16xAF in UT2k3 and your not happy

and BTW in combat with more then few bots FPS are always CPU limited , all Unreal games are like this ;)

Um... UT2k3 is heavily (HEAVILY) CPU dependant.

If that's true then my CPU is certainly not out of date. :)

If your CPU is under 3 Ghz, it's out of date.

I agree with acsi here

with the 9700 you are running into cpu limitations if you're not using 3.0 ghz and above with 1gig of super fast ram.

I didn't mean out of date in that fashion BTW.
