I'd been using ATI cards for years. The G80 so impressed me, and at the same time I was starting to build a new machine so the two went together perfectly. I couldnt be happier with my choice. This baby is impressive and all the games Ive run in the past are way better under her power. I cant wait for DX10 games in the near future.

I can only imagine how many customers ATI has lost being so behind the power curve.... I dont see myself going back.

Probably the same amount and more they will gain again when they release their R600 cards. A lot of people are waiting for the R600 and have found a way to resist the urge to get a G80 (including myself).

One of the main reasons for me to wait is exactly what you are saying: DX10. I think it is too soon to be buying a DX10 card when there aren't even DX10 games out yet. No telling how the G80 will perform on those. Chances are they will lag behind the R600's because at that time I assume there will be DX10 games around.

the thing about thinking that the R600 will be better because it has had more time has some flaws. The G80 is the first DX10 card out there, and thats what people have been using to polish their DX10 games. I would think there would be higher chances that they would optimize the DX10 code to nVIDIA's implementation over what AMD/ATi has done. Of course DX10 specs should limit the amount of hardware specific optimizations that could be made.
