I tried to edit my original post (http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=1102104&postcount=1), and I didn't even have a button for it. Is there an expiration on the time when you can edit a post?

I thought the expiration time was a bit longer, but there definetly is one in place. It kinda sucks when I google my name and find some of the retarded stuff I've said and I can't change it...

Damn public record! ;)

IMO, there should be an exception to the EDIT time limit for original posts in threads. I'd say 90% of the time someone has a legitimate reason (ie, not just to change something stupid they said) to edit an older post its to update information important to the thread, ie a list of items in the for sale\trade forum, a bug list, or download\screenshot links or releasing information for games.

If there is some way to make an exception for original posts, it should definitely be done.

Currently the edit time for posts is set to 15mins so, what is the consensus on what you would like it to be?

I went back and checked the settings, the forum is actually set to allow you to edit post for up to 10 days. 15mins is how long it takes the "edited by..." message to appear next to your edited post.
